Pete Tong hit the decks at Ushaia in Ibiza last night for a major BBC Radio 1 take-over of the white and famed party isle. Kicking off with Erick Morillo playing his 2011 challenger, Stronger, out on site featuring a live performance from the one and only Shawnee Taylor, yesterday’s Essential Selection was all about the Summer and releases coming up during the Fall. Pete also served the Ushaia venue up with the Swedish House Mafia remix of Coldplay, bringing in David Guetta to play his new Lunar collaboration with Afrojack as well as Kaskade’s forthcoming Eyes smash and the American’s take on Skrillex. Also, Jamie Jones, James Zabiela, Azari & III and Carl Cox joined in to screen their mixing skills and top offerings.
