Avicii breathes new air and power into the continued ascension of his most prominent anthem to date – Levels. Named the next ”Bromance” as early as late 2010 after making its debut and prime-time appearance in the Swedish prodigy’s Essential Mix on BBC Radio 1, but frankly, his break-through single doesn’t even come close to competing with the gem that has been crowned by the likes of an everlasting string of top-class DJ’s and even been acknowledged as an essential ”life-safer” lately. Despite the fact that many producers consider a leak of a tune bad, our fellow tunesmith based out of Stockholm reckoned otherwise after witnessing his live set-adapted mash-up with the almighty vocals of Etta James’ ‘Something’s Got A Hold On’ go viral in cyberspace to be played by the likes of literally all major and minor DJ’s across the globe and line up an overawing 16 million plays on YouTube.
Clearly driven by the rapturing and now world renowned synth leads which, even though they may not feature any shape or form of vocals, will catch you crooning the chord progression of complete perfection in no-time. Having had a year, jam packed with an abundance of success and fame, such acclaimed releases as Fade Into Darkness, Sunshine, Sweet Dreams, Blessed and the remix on Drowning, the unstoppable march of Levels continues as it at last sees its official release through Avicii’s recently launched sublabel of Ministry Of Sound, LE7ELS, backed by Universal Music. And despite its widely known leak, this year’s unquestionable hit single is certain to storm the global charts as of now, fuelled by a surpassing melody, distinct euphoria and an outstanding ability of getting people to wanna move.

Debuting at #24 in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJ’s poll this year, the magnitude of Hardwell is far beyond remarkable. After a year that’s been jam packed with his well-known handiness in rendering hard-hitting piano smashes, the Breda born producer is starting to show indications of a possible veer in terms of elaborating the piano filled forerunners into a darker and more sophisticated signature sound. Initiated by the yet to be officially released remix on Louder, the recently released anthem of ”Energy, The Network” in 2012, Cobra, and his Beta collaboration with Nicky Romero, another thunderous example of his newly found liking for dark club-bangers is about to take off, as premiered on Saturday at Sensation White Innerspace in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Building his foundations with 2011’s early-bird hit singles Zero 76 (with Tiësto) and Encoded, Spaceman is, from the looks of it, the next in line to excel along to Hardwell’s proceeding ascent. Filling its break-down with bubblingly anthemic synth chords to pioneer for a leviathan drop, the rigorous and fierce characteristics of this new representative of his own Revealed Recordings is one to keep eyes and ears peeled out for in terms of its imminent release.
‘Spaceman’ is set for release on January 23rd.

Since the release of Unleash The Fucking Dada in October of 2010, this Swedish duo stood out as a primal asset to the more experimental department of electronic dance music. Having created an image like no other, Dada Life release the vocal version of their third single contender of 2011, following the debut release of their new So Much Dada label being the original, White Noise / Red Meat on Steve Aoki’s Dim Mak and Fight Club Is Closed (It’s Time For Rock N Roll) on Spinnin. Although the DJ and production outfit of two has been in the industry for quite some time now, it was not until recently their reputation has scampered away into the sky. The crazy and utmostly innovative electro heads of Olle Corneer and Stefan Engblom are yet again merging their twisted baseline and electro sounds with a simple and dainty but punchy piano lead for Happy Violence, now graced with a cacophonic sounding vocal. Coming off their remix of Encoded in April, the take on Little Bad Girl and having a remix on Prutataaa coming up, the vocal version of their last single output is now available to download now via their newly launched So Much Dada imprint along with remixes from Uppermost and Swanky Tunes!

Germany’s Patric La Funk cannot possibly have slipped past many this year, but in case you’re one of the unfortunate ones to have managed to miss out on this dexterous German, be sure to check him out as he makes his debut single appearance on Armada Music’s Zouk Recordings. Reaching its peak in the sensual break with elongated tones and a looming baselines, the trance-influenced Baltic comes out as follow-up to his synth-driven Time and Time Again installment on Laidback Luke’s Mixmash label. Returning from the recent emittance of Bjornberg’s sought-after Absolut record, the man responsible for co-producing Autosave alongside Fedde Le Grand, the throbbing 7:20 and Blizzard this year is brought in for the symphonic sounds of his latest single to be released.

Simmering hot off his debut as a newly acquired DJ and producer of the Australia based Vicious Recordings, the remix on Ryan Kono’s Someday, Franz Novotny’s eagerly-awaited first single is out. Despite his utterly fresh and little experience of anything electronic dance music and the dance-friendly chords one can achieve from computer software, the Swedish producer has boasted incredible awareness of how to blend sounds in the best possible way meanwhile screening a rendering deftness that is worthy of being compared with the top-tier of producers. Weaving clean and kicking electro beats together with a simple, synth filled lead melody for the set weapon that is Crunch, the keen anticipation for the release of the Kaskade-supported sequel, entitled Big Bang, is yet ascending.

The Dutch record label concern that has made itself renowned through its widespread and high class outlet of Spinnin Records and its many subdivisions. Tracks like Unbelievable, Schizophrenic, the Alesso remix on Pressure and countless others have been spotted dropping out of the Holland-based electronic dance music imprint. An up-and-coming Swede is now joining in on Spinnin headquarters as one of the few foreigners on the label, that is clearly dominated by its native producers. Coming on the heels of Maximum on Whartone in March, Jerry Rekonius showcases a true heavyweight as the sequel release. Out now is Powahbunga with it’s outright and unremittingly pounding interpretation of dirty Dutch.

The relentless energy of Dutch house’s leading figure of the new wave of DJ’s currently emerging continues to luxuriate as he ups the stakes for a brand-new remix treatment on Sebastian Ingrosso and Alesso’s progressive Calling anthem. Being a producer behind such ravishing club bangers as Prutataaa, Sending My Love and a row of remix cuts out of Without You and Maximal Crazy to name a few, R3hab has indisputably become a man worthy of upholding the crown of the next pioneer, of Holland’s club music scene, to be. His uniquely knitted hit productions are of as high of a standard to be compared with the productions of any top-tier icon and has established himself as a hard-working and massively talented producer at the very heart of clubland. The forte of R3hab being his cacophonic sounding chords, thick underlayers and monstrous sounds, the essential aspirant of the next generation of Dutch house lays his hands on one of 2011’s most renowned singles – Calling. Despite the fact that the original’s progression is rather hard to remix, the producer from Holland’s holy Grail of successful DJ’s – Breda – has made it clear there is no stopping his steady crusade this year as he teams up with Swanky Tunes, the Russian trio primarily known by Their Law, Together, Phantom and the Smolengrad / United EP, yet again to now turn the hottest offering from Refune Records to date into a full-on, rugged peak-timer to enact their signature sounds further.

The two most notable representatives of Above & Beyond’s Anjunabeats, Arty and Mat Zo, combine forces to follow up Rebound and a year of massive success. The Russian whom has come to star as a vital talent recurringly making appearances in the live sets of Swedish House Mafia and others has had a year nothing short of spectacular. Releasing the fluctuating remix on Ferry Corsten’s Punk, which floored countless dancefloors this past Summer, the astounding Around The World and the gorgeous Kate have been some of the essential accomplishments of Arty’s admirable rise in 2011. Currently topical with the forthcoming Trio together with another pair of Russian’s, Matisse & Sadko, Arty teams up with fellow label co-star Matan Zohar, whom is another talent that has been a regular in the live sets of this year’s most intriguing trio. Responsible for Superman and the more recent Frequency Flyer, his signature sound is now merged with the rather punchy characteristics of Arty for the creation of a new hit single is due to be released on December 11th via Anjunabeats.

Not only did Chuckie join Pete Tong for this week’s Essential Selection, Laidback Luke Rob da Bank and Armin van Buuren Judge Jules, but Friday night’s honouring of Holland’s prominent Dutch house scene on BBC Radio 1 also offered a flash-back on last week’s significant Amsterdam Dance Event with a bunch of live sets making up this week’s Essential Mix special. And it sure was an exclusive pick of Holland’s hotly tipped forefronters that was offered, including the likes of Afrojack, R3hab, Sidney Samson and Sander van Doorn to name a few.

As now given two exclusive radio spins in Tiësto’s weekly Club Life show, the United States raised Pedro Henriques gives us a taste of his forthcoming debut on Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike’s Smash The House label. Strongly supported by the man firmly planted at #3 on DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJ’s poll, Spread The Love is undoubtedly the hottest offering out from the Miami producer to date. Graced with the powerful voice of Palermo’s Giuseppe Viola, the memorable and momentous guitarr riff, in conjunction with the immense vocals of the Italy singer, paves the way for a high-pitched synth lead and catchy kicks to form a full-on post-summer contender. Mainly known by his two Tonight and Forever singles on the respected Vicious Recordings, Henriques sets another splendid production on the horizon, joining in on the yet to be released remix on Fire In Your New Shoes.
‘Spread The Love’ is out January 30th 2012.

Founded in 2000, Sensation White has soared into an immersed, sought-after event, world renowned to human kind. What started out as a trance event later emerged into the House scene, hosting some of clubland’s grandest DJ’s. Having become the Bentley’s of all DJ event’s by touring across the globe for years, they’re now stopping by at the Parken Stadium venue in Copenhagen, Denmark with a remarkable row of DJ’s on board. Sensation’s resident MC Gee voices the vast venue with his spiritual throat along with the acclaimed artists’ touting of their beloved anthems.
By all means being a successfully made up warm-up pseudonym for the Sensation events, Mr. White brings us the hottest tech and deep tunes in preparation for the headlining live acts to hit the decks.
The headlining DJ’s of the third edition of Sensation’s all-new ‘Innerspace‘ concept and their final event of the year, due to the unfortunate cancellation of the annually held New Year’s event in Germany, are by far a bunch of intriguing icons of electronic dance music. Following the Denmark resident and up-and-coming DJ Flip is the label honcho of Toolroom Records and a firm protagonist on everything tech house, Mark Knight. Responsible for what may very well be the greatest tech anthem of all time – the unremitting remix on You’ve Got The Love – and a string of major hits alongside Manuel De La Mare, Tiësto, Funkagenda and others, the man from Maidstone is undoubtedly a performer to be sure catching chanting his prestigious liking of nothing but the best. Brought back to make their third appearance in the main room of Sensation White are Daniel Sanchez and Juan Sanchez, followed by France’s highly successful hit-smith, Martin Solveig, returning from the recent release of Big In Japan (with Dragonette and Idoling). And last but surely not least, the Dutch wunderkid who debuted at #24 in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJ’s poll this year, Hardwell, whom is topical with the hit single crowned the official anthem of Energy, The Network in 2012 – Cobra.
