With the ground-breaking Levels now officially out, Avicii is arguably the largest deal in clubland at the moment. On top of selling out spacious clubs and stadiums like no other, the 22 year old hit-smith that is Sweden’s Tim Bergling has shown indications of being in possession of that desirable touch of Midas, the Greek legend king whose unique ability was to turn everything he touched into gold. Indeed, there has been quite a few golden gems emerging from Avicii headquarters and At Night management this year, including Fade Into Darkness and Sunshine and literally a horde of ID’s. And with Dancing In My Head, with singer Eric Turner, and Before This Night Is Through (Bad Things), under his Tim Berg moniker, coming up, the hereunto unstoppable rise of Avicii is certainly not looking to simmer down anytime soon.

Nevertheless, the young Swedish prodigy hit the decks at Super Glow, DC Armory in Washington, United States last Friday for a three hour marathon, during which the over 10 000 strong crowd raved to a few more than one unreleased Avicii, a bunch of old ones and new tracks like Alesso’s Raise Your Head, Michael Calfan’s Resurrection and the Alesso remix to Titanium. The live set, tipped by a blinding, new opening track from the Swede, ventured cyberspace recently as a result to getting a spin on Sirius XM yesterday and has been the talk of the town ever since. Frankly, there are quite a few more than one town involved in this matter as a sample of what many deem the ”next” Levels is well on its way of going viral across the globe. The rumours saying it’s one of the new collaborations in between the Swede and Nicky Romero due to a mysterious tweet made by Romero himself linking the video embedded after the tracklisting below has now been confirmed to be true.

theres a WAY better quality one! :)

  • melfres: Since there already is a high-quality of the live set itself (which opens with that exact track), we though it was more essential to give an approximate view of how the gig went down whilst also shedding light on the new ID.

  • @Anton: oh okay, gotcha man!

  • First Track is a collab with Nicky Romero. He confirmed it today on Twitter, because so many people ask him ;)

  • Fan va Avicii regerar! snubben e ju bara fööööör jävla cool :D grymt kul att han drog me sina gamla remixer på Set Me Free & Make My Heart! kör på KUNGEN!

  • i think avicii is an amazing producer but i would be soo mad if i paid money and he played me this set this is aviciis greatest hits bascially like you can almost bet that he is going to play the same tracks in most of his sets which is why i have not seen him live yet and probably wont his track selection is boring aside from one or two ids its the same set over and over again

  • this is actually quite a different set from what he usually plays, probably because it was a 3 hour set.

  • Awesome ! ! !

  • Manuel, could you say that about most DJs? I get that he plays a ton of his tracks, but he also has a lot of good stuff. The worst IMO is deadmau5, I’ll never pay to see one of his shows again. All his tracks, no variety, MEH.

  • @ Trey : I don’t agree, i’ve seen Deadmau5 twice and I can tell you that his sets were off the hook and with a lot variety !

  • Agree with you Manuel…If this was an hour and a half set like usual it would be the same old vocal tracks…and @Trey…if i DJed a huge crowd like taht id definitely change it up every time. He is all about the money now i heard he doesnt even DJ anymore just stands back there and dances. Mixes in the next song at the end…dances….

  • and this was a 3 Hour Set?! 38 songs in a 3 hour set is WEAK!

  • Amazong

  • @trey

ehhh, you’re mad because the artists you pay to see play their own songs? DJ’s like Avicii, deadmau5 and many more aren’t just some random DJ’s that plays random tracks. They are artists just as much as other musicans. DJing is their way to perform, and it doesn’t mean that they need to play other tracks then their own, even thought almost everyone does it.

And seriously, Deadmau5 plays almost always his own stuff at his shows, so don’t blame him, blame yourself for not checking that up.

  • @trey You absolutely right. Why would they not play their own songs?
No one whines on Chemical Brothers because they are playing their own songs.

  • ganska svagt faktiskt.. 3 timmar o bara 38 låtar?

  • Skrillex, re-read my post. I dislike deadmau5’s produced sets (with his whole set-up) because it’s all his stuff. If you’ve seen him once then there’s really no need to see him again. Admittedly I’ve never seen his unhooked set, so I can’t comment on that. My point is while Avicii plays a bunch of his tracks, he at least mixes his set list up so you’ll be seeing something different if you see him again two months later.

  • I read it and answered it. The thing is that you pointed it out as a very bad thing. ”I’ll never pay to see one of his shows again” People pay to see Deadmau5 and hear HIS songs. That’s it.

And Avicii isn’t a very good example for ”mixed sets”.

  • Ett ord: FETT.

Mashup of this song, check it out!

  • I don’t know why people are complaining when djs play there own stuff!? I don’t go to see deadmau5 or avicii to hear other peoples music, the reason I’m paying to see them is to hear them play their stuff. I also prefer it when there aren’t hundreds of track in a set, the more tracks there are just means they won’t last as long, if my fave tune comes on I don’t want it to last 2minutes and then the next track come on

  • And also you say that it gets repetative playing the same tracks over and over, not everyone is lucky enough to have seen avicii at all, me included, still waiting for him to come to the UK

  • guys i meant the fact that when i see a dj like erick morillo for example which i have seen 3 times i always got a different set one of his sets was very progressive the second one was half progressive and half tech house and the 3 rd one was 5 progressive songs and the rest tribal what he is an artist too but aside from playing his own tracks he always brings new tracks same thing with dirty south i have seen him 4 times and he always and i mean always updated his track selection he always mixes his tracks with new acapellas and always makes new edits and brings one track evey time that is new same thing with kaskade i seen kaskade twice and he played completly different sets also he played 4 hours each time avicii is playing at most two hours charging you guys 50 dollars or better and for what you can just hear a cd of his and be satisifed its not like he is putting on a good show all he does is fist pump he does not even get on the mic and greet his fans avicii is a horrid performer i would rather see erick morillo drop levels then see avicii who made the track drop it which is why its way more important to be as amazing as a dj as a producer its like he does not put any effort in his sets at all thats why i say he is extremely over rated @Skrillex @Jim @Trey its one thing to play your songs yes but play other peoples shit as well stop being sheep and drinking the coolaid
