Embracing the revolutionary movement of dance music crossing paths with the commercial, the movie documentary of internationally acclaimed David Guetta, entitled Nothing But The Beat as his recent fifth artist album, is the story behind the successful and immensely popular Frenchman’s road to global domination. With a host of hit singles such as Love Is Gone, When Love Takes Over and Gettin’ Over You amongst many other chart-topping jams under his belt, Guetta is, whether a few may feel he’s sold himself to the masses or not, a pioneer of House music and one of the key reasons as to why electronic dance music DJ’s and producers are the new rockstars and perhaps even a reason as to why some of you are reading this right now.

Also screening a ton of video footage from the extravaganza’s of David Guetta since the inception of his acclamation, numerous stories on the rendezvous of Guetta and the many highly-rated superstars he’s collaborated with and backstage footage to, all combined, form an hour-long merge of Guetta and House music nostalgic.

  • vad heter låten vid 28.00 ?

  • Jag säger som toppkommentaren:

#1 Dj my ass. Still, awesome documentary.

  • WTF it’s a shame to do a documentary about this person who completely blamed the house scene! he’s not agood producer cause he’s not producing himself and afte i saw this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iKigqacY-LY it was clear that he’s also the worst dj the world has ever seen!

  • @Philipp

You are fucking retarded, that video is obviously fake.

  • @philipp
You can’t be serious? Anyways, thanks for today’s biggest laugh

  • I am not that into DJing but i guess it would have sounded the same with or without Guetta at this performance. Why does he even need to use headdphones, he doesn´t mix any tracks.

“I wanna be bridge between black and white people with my music” seriöst??? vem fan säger så.. när man ser denna dokumentär ser man vilken hybris killen har..

Citatet är “out of this world”. Kommentarer överflödiga.

  • @Erik

If you think twice u will understand that he is obviously just there for the show. He’s there to represent him as a DJ and to get in on the spotlight with Usher.
Many people liking this track might not even undestand what a DJ does (people in my family and for example) and having headphones represents his performance (wich is none in this case but you understand)

Whats the big deal, let him wear the headphones.

  • julius, If you look closer in the video you can actually see guetta fake-scratching on the decks and nothing happens..All he needed to do was to press play so usher could sing on the song..I even dont think the decs is connected they are just there for show..

  • I haven’t decided if it’s amazing, or scary how stupid some people in this comment field is.

@Erik ’sounded the same with or without Guetta at this performance. Why does he even need to use headdphones, he doesn´t mix any tracks.’ – Would it looked better if he sat there with his laptop, playing the song through the sequencer? No.

@philipp The video you linked.. I’m not even gonna start…

No, he’s not producing everything by himself, and he’s really not alone on that front. BUT, he might have the idea’s for the tracks, and are probably paying shit loads to the people producing for him.

I personally don’t like Guetta’s tracks, but I’m not afraid to stand for what he have actually done to house scene, making it wider and acceptable.

The documentary was great. End of story.

  • Deleted from everywhere.

  • every single dj works on a song with someone else..the majority is that artist which makes that song go under there name…gosh you igNINT!!! y’all just don’t know!!! b lAHH BLAAHH BLAAAHHH LIKE A DUNGEON DRAGON!!!!.. thats what y’all sound like..

oh plus i like really like nikki manaja twa! don’t judge!!!!! DAVID GUETTAA!!! IS NUMBER 1 IN THE WORLD!! so yes you have a reason to be jealous,.. so keep crying cuz you wanna be like him!! oh and above and beyond shoulda got number 1..but you know it is what it is! guetta works for this year!! why?? cuz HES GOOD!!!!!!!!!!! ya dumb fuks!!!! :) have a great day!! :)

  • this is for all you haters – no one is perfect…

  • my 2 cents:

    1. @”haters wanna hate” posting a video of steve angello in this discussion is like shitting in a urinal..it’s out of place here. most of the people know that story and it’s a different discussion..and in this discussion it only proves one thing – some people and some things happening in this business are fake. cool story bro

    2. LehyO please do yourself a favour and get your shit together ‘ya dumb fuk’. Google EVERY Guetta release and look up the discogs of each track and you’ll see some names appearing redundantly: before his big break it’s probably Roman Böer (Tocadisco, the guy who ACTUALLY did Love Don’t Let Me Go) every now and then or Joachim Garraud.
They’ve agreed to release stuff under his name as it is common for some people to have executive producers that actually do the literal work for some money before their superiors put their name on it.
Guetta started out as a DJ in Paris, became A&R of a club and thus got in touch with acts he booked to that club. You can figure out the rest of the story by yourself. BUT you probably don’t even know the tracks before One Love or even Nothing But The Beat considering your bell end way of writing here.

By the way, this actually happens all the time, as most of the “older” DJs who became famous before the digital revolution aren’t really capable of delivering class music over the time anymore. Ever noticed that people like Erick Morillo haven’t released a solo track in ages? It’s like a symbiosis – talented, but less known producers make a track and gain from putting their name right next to a famous DJ (who got famous earlier with their particular craft of DJing) in the track info – just like Eddie Thoneick or Harry Choo Choo Romero got more exposure in that case. However, this is quite OKAY compared to those people who pay some hungarian teenager 200€ for mashing up some Vengeance samples in FL Studio and put their name on it solely.

As you might have read at the end of the documentary, Guetta ‘worked’ with two other guys since the mainstream breakthrough of the ‘David Guetta’ brand. If you’re wondering what I’m talking about, do the same discogs research for Guettas stuff since Pop Life or One Love and you’ll come across two names ALL THE TIME: Giorgio Tuinfort and Frédéric Riesterer. Basically two very good pop music producers and friends of Guetta (Tuinfort produced for a guy called Michael Jackson a while ago). But, as they’re presumably not interested in being known to the broad public that much for their music and don’t want to tour clubs and festival DJing (they might not even know how), you could call Guetta their puppet if you’re being pessimistic. Same story for the radio part of Nothing but the Beat, the club part (some acid tracks and a poor piano avicii mockup) probably consists of Davids own Ableton skills and Afrojack, Avicii or whoever found time to do some mediocre tracks.

It’s surely likely that he’s not completely out of the loop with all this music, but he’s clearly not some kind of mastermind (musically speaking) who kicks out hit after hit on mainstream radio all by HIMSELF.

I, like presumably many other people here who are enjoying or even producing real house music, don’t like 99% of his tracks since it got more mainstream. But that’s about his MUSIC. And he did quite nothing to revolutionize the productions or the sound of house at all.

However, the PROJECT David Guetta, as a whole brand and publicity campaign & whatever you wanna call it, DID a big deal for the scene and it’s due to one fact: a big amount of the mainstream music listeners before his success, teenagers or whoever is Davids audience today, didn’t even know or like that real house music or electronic dance music in general. By mashing it up with some mainstream pop artists, the act David Guetta kicked the doors open in northern america and mainstream europe for the whole scene to follow.

It’s comparable with a garden somehow. Unless there is any mediocre, regular, globally compatible soil provided as groundwork, there is no possibility for some really awesome looking flowers and plants to grow. So everyone hating on the soil for not being nice and beautiful is missing the point. The soil did his job, without it there probably would be far less plants able to grow properly. Someone produced that soil, Guetta took it to the garden and everyone celebrates him for that. You’ll get the point. Nice metaphor, huh?

so you might get it now, if not, go listen to some LMFAO on spotify
