When the record label of an avant-guard of traditional House music vibes, Riva Starr, decide to round its second year as a fully functioning release platform within House and tech-house off, the word big would be an understatement. Hailing from Chile capital, Santiago, Fabian Argomedo treats us with a funky, four-track EP as his debut on Snatch Records. Although he’s been a frequently releasing producer and contributor of the classical House music scene since early 2008, the world has seen this Chilean fly a bit under the radar with a few unnoticed yet momentous features on compilations of Cr2 and Toolroom to date. But as he now instals himself as one of the Snatch! artist roster, Argomedo is due to see a brisk and essential change to things in near future, as far as his own ascent as a producer is concerned.
While the headliner, Tabique, is comprised from a triumphant horn-sounding instrument and intermittent chants, Red Dog takes it upon itself to play the role as a well-received beach heater with its groovy and somewhat dark instrumentals and charm. With a dash of traditional disco grooves, Fire makes us wanna flash back upon the 70’s and 80’s colorful and funky take on Dance music as Cirkus finishes things off with a slick and significantly smoother appeal. And as we now sum things up, it’s safe to say Fabian Argomedo and his predilection to intermittent vocal chants are set to be one core contributor to House music from now on.
