Hailing from Dortmund, Germany, Jim Byrne unveils the fourth edition of his series of mixtapes entitled 60 Degrees. With well-executed transitions, a creative structure and a brilliant track selection, this is an immaculate example for a distinguished yet somewhat commercially appealing one hour mixtape. What is kicked off with Tiësto’s thumping, official remix of the Mission Impossible theme song later continues with tracks such as Knife Party’s Tourniquet, the widely underestimated Cazzette remix of Avicii’s Levels, Nicky Romero’s acclaimed Toulouse and Dada Life’s heavyweight offering Kick Out The Epic Motherfucker among many others.

  • Random usage of acapella´s imo: who´s in the house + tourniquet ?, powahbunga + walking alone? Doesn´t fit really.

  • In my opinion it is quite interesting that he uses these vocals for the tracks. But ”Who’s In The House” sounded a bit too loud toward ”Tourniquet” and the crossover from ”Powahbunga” with ”Walking Alone” to ”Sending My Love” is a bit too short, the vocals of the next tracks starts too early.
Nevertheless, it’s a great mixtape with nice tracklist and superb transitions. I’m quite happy to see some mixtapes here of my countrymen. :D

  • Haha Walking Alone på Powahbunga, BRA DÄR.

  • walking alone versus powahbunga is not offbeat just not the same keys, he should’ve modified the key in any of them. other than that, this is one heck of a mixtape, great job!

  • of course it’s kind of random with unmelodic acapellas, it’s not celine dion ;)
in most cases, it’s done to make it more interesting/recognizable, it depends on the feeling you get while enjoying music!

    give it a shot,
    greets

  • big thanks to kevski, prosiit and the others for the feedback!
