As now given two exclusive radio spins on Tiësto’s weekly Club Life show, the United States-bred Pedro Henriques makes his debut on Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike’s Smash The House label. Heavily supported by the man firmly planted at #3 on DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJ’s poll last year, ‘Spread The Love’ is undoubtedly the hottest offering out from the Miami producer to date. With the powerful voice of Palermo’s Giuseppe Viola hovering atop a memorable and momentous guitarr riff, paving the way for high-pitched synth lead and catchy kicks to form a spot-on pre-summer contender, ‘Spread The Love’ marks a new chapter for the studio outlet of this up-and-coming American. Whereas the original holds a significantly more commercial appeal, Henriques’ partner-in-crime Digital Lab is on the remix duty to add a frisky synth lead and a set of notable baselines for a considerably more club suitable version.

Named, by some, as the next ‘Mush, Mush’ – the Bassjackers debut on Musical Freedom which has been a regular in most DJ’s sets this year – the now released Goldcoast by Apster is a superb mixture of frisky and high-energy chords and a churning, bass-dominating drop. Flaunting as another Holland-bred hopeful, Apster, real name Abdesamad Ben Abdelouahid, has made for his third appearance on the record label of Afrojack, Wall Recordings, following the widely underestimated Bootcamp single with Nicky Romero and a diverse, two-track EP with Bassjackers. Also responsible for the squeaky yet brilliant Music Oh installment on Mixmash alongside Quintino in 2011, the, to some, incomprehensible yet rather ground-breaking ‘Goldcoast’ has given us reasons to believe winds will keep turning in favour of this young Hollander in 2012.

After the return from his recent tour across the undiscovered House music territories of Indonesia, Paul Thomas is out with his first release of 2012, being his second ever appearance on Funk Farm. Featuring his well-known mixture of rolling sounds and chunky tech-house beats to later break down into an interlude of a set of catchy, high-pitched synth lines and solid kicks, Buzz Killington validates this Birmingham-bred producer further as a key player within the acknowledged progressive/tech fusion. Out now alongside the original mix is also a quite distinctive interpretation from head honcho Funkagenda himself, who preserves the enchanting synth-filled lead while switching the thick tech beats for a soft injection of dubstep to give this else beefy track a more relaxing appeal.

Despite being fairly unknown, the London duo that are Alfie Granger-Howell and Nick Harriman, also known as Dusky, have validated the fact that fame and talent don’t necessarily go hand-in-hand. Starring as one of Anjunadeep’s hottest rescources thus far, Dusky return from the recent release of their debut album to come out with another well-oiled single through one of the record imprints of Above & Beyond. As a counterpart to the abundance of dubstep and wobbly electro-house offerings hitting the digital mark these days, Dusky’s ‘Three Colours’ reflects upon far less intricate build-ups and a soothing appeal. With assistance from large yet smooth kicks, soothing piano chords and mysterious vocal lines, this accompany piece to a re-release of the album single ‘Lost Highway’ sets the standard for the London producers’ music output in 2012. Also included in the package is the winning remix out of the recently finished remix contest for Dusky’s essential contender of 2011, ‘Lost In You’, in which London-based deep House producer Hugga Thugg went victorious.

Having already made positive noise with their unexpected radio hit ‘Made Of’ for John Dahlback’s Mutants Records, Stockholm’s Jacob Criborn and Leonard Scheja have proven a more versatile force in Electronic Dance Music than anyone could have anticipated. Already boasting remix duties for Kaskade, David Morales and Adrian Lux, their relatively short peak within the industry has spelt another hometown victory for the country we clearly cannot deter.

Their latest concoction of divine chord play and poignant harmonic developments, now a staple feature of their country’s rising Electronic legacy, proves Nause to be a stunning example of Sweden’s more heartfelt studio forces amid the race for EDM supremacy. With further promise of a vocal cut and promising international tour dates on the horizon, their forthcoming release on Universal marks a solid step forward for these promising Progressive House patrons.

‘Mellow’ is set for release February 13th via Universal Music.

Maurizio Colella, by all accounts, has mastered the realms of warm Progressive House. Under the guise of EDX, his time at the helm of the ever-growing Electronic Dance Music scene has mustered a fanatical following for both his No Xcuses radio show and increasing international live presence, while vivacious outings for the likes of Toolroom Records Pinkstar have kept the Swiss producer’s melodic legacy well and truly alive.

But amid his debut full-length outing for Sirup Music, ‘On The Edge’, EDX returns to the heyday of his elite Progressive stylings with leading album track ‘Everything’. Summoning the unique silvery of Atlanta’s essential EDM vocal piece Hadley, the Colella’s scrupulous melodic developments are perfectly accompanied by a truly evocative vocal line that sets this track apart from the crowd on the grounds of its resurrection of a sub-genre that too many have tried to emulate with little consistency. Say what you will about the digression of EDX’s studio-output, but ‘Everything’ suggests that some sounds will never slip off the radar.

‘Everything’ is out now as part of his debut album ‘On The Edge’.

1978 saw distinct German Disco force inject the industry with a song that no one really knew how to deal with. Mustering chart action across the globe, however, it seemed that the quirky grooves of ‘Rasputin’ had caught a ears along the way. Far further down the line, Swedish brothers in-the-beat Enzio and Emilio could be found attempting to rekindle the fire of the beloved genre with a 21st century twist. In the wake of their debut single ‘Soul Train’, the young Stockholm duo have taken substantial pride is assuming the role of their country’s more creative House collective.

In a bid to emasculate the original 70’s crowd pleasers avid ‘cheese’ factor, the scattered tweaks and buckled disco vibes of the duo’s next track marks something of an evil professor status for the rising Swedes. Amid a scene of often mind numbing unoriginality, this daringly different outing suggests there are still a few crucial wildcards on the European circuit to be turned over. Enzio and Emilio are definitely one of them.

‘Disco Shit’ is released as a free download on February 3rd.

Paul Thomas, once the British undergrounds best kept secret, has led the way for his country’s stronghold on all things big room. As a firm favourite amid the likes of Funk Farm and Toolroom Records, the Birmingham based producer has laced the industry with his finely tailored take on the bigger picture of club worthy bangers. In a time of generic poses and predictable playlists, Thomas remains resourceful reverie to floor aficionados across the globe.

But his follow up to the latest collaboration with Israeli duo Weekend Heroes, entitled ‘V.A.M.P’, deals in the same positive progressives as we have come to expect from the boisterous Brit. Layered with resonating vocals and a stern backbone of well-groomed beats, the apex of ‘Morena’ encapsulates the semi-euphoric melodic big room triumph that has established Paul Thomas and Weekend Heroes as beacons not only for genuinely advanced productions, but energy that trounces the vast majority of his European peers. There is little to indicate that the rising Progressive bomber isn’t enroute to a global explosion and with an undeniably powerful return to Spinnin Records, 2012 looks to be a truly British and Israeli revolution in Electronic Dance Music.

‘Morena’ is released February 27th via Spinnin Records.

Having already established the fact that he is a producer of great measures, Joseph Youngman, professionally known as Wolfgang Gartner, continues to impress as he ups the ante to preview his first release in 2012. Unlike his regular, fiercely sounding electro-house progressions that have sealed him a place amongst the créme de la créme of clubland, Gartner’s newest offering represents a considerably brighter side of his studio output. Following the successful release of his debut album on Ultra Records late last year, Youngman returns to the well-renowned, America-based record imprint for the release of a record that is nothing short of spectacular. Consisting of an energetic, synth-like lead and some vibrant bottom layers, ‘There and Back’ unfolds another side of Gartner’s already limitless versatility and sets a new standard for the American that is potent enough to shortly face another Grammy nomination.

‘There and Back’ is set for release on January 31st via Ultra Records.
