Having been inaugurated into Pete Tong’s ‘15 Minutes of Fame’ with an array of his signature chainsaw madness, Fadil El Ghoul has shown little signs of slowing down his game for 2012. But in the pursuit of those somewhat purer Progressive House qualities, fans will not be dismayed by the Dutch maestro’s approach to Labrinth’s ‘Last Time’. Having already laid down respectable offerings for Lady GaGa and Sander Van Doorn, R3hab’s clear cut synth line and enigmatic energy make for a fresh and clean approach to his usual gritty Electro House stylings. Compare to that of Knife Party’s heavier and equally more predictable remix outing, this is a nod towards the new and unchartered territories we saw in R3hab’s remix of Adrian Lux’s ‘Fire’. That being said, it is not an avenue that is set to throw the world from a truly diverse player on the Dutch House front.
