On the back of a highly successful compilation for Toolroom Records and the momentous Big Beat outing ‘Life’, illustrious Swedish House maestro John Dahlback emerges from a brief touring hiatus to unleash his next contender for 2012. Calling upon a far funkier sound scope than his more commonly associated Progressive House cuts, Dahlback is all about the groove for his return to Spinnin Records.

Wrapping an infectious top line of mechanically tuned male vocals into his assorted canvas of scattered lead play, the Swede heavyweight pulls off a surprisingly powerful yet inherently unexpected offering. Still packing a solid backbone of driving House stylings, the familiar energy and nostalgic charm more commonly associated with his earlier works are certainly a match made in heaven, establishing ‘Start Lovin You’ as one of his more divergent efforts to date.

Great track! He’s really good at making his tracks sound completely different from his other tracks, as Matt said, there are not many producers left with this skill. One bad thing is his management, this is the very first time I hear this track. I’m not saying he should be like Avicii and preview 10 songs without releasing them but he should definitely give his management a good spanking and put them into work.
