Germany residing Jim Byrne comes out with the fifth episode of his own mixtape series called 60 Degrees. Epitomising a fresh selection of some of the hottest releases in 2012 thus far, 60 Degrees episode 5 may not appear as the most distinguished mix, but as a well thought-out and carefully crafted one. Besides featuring the soon-to-be-released Dirty South remix of Miike Snow’s ‘Devil’s Work‘, Byrne’s latest one hour mix also covers the likes of Third Party and Cicada’s ‘Feel‘, Arty and Matisse & Sadko’s ‘Trio‘ off Axtone Records and much more.

  • DL link dosent work :(

  • liam: Try now

  • Thank you!1

  • This is a really terrible mixtape. Tunes are mixed wildly, and there is no flow at all. EQs don’t seem to be consistent as well. Really a waste of one hour..

  • Hey Sam, thanks for you enlightening Comment.
Please sent me a Mixtape of yours on jimberny@web.de to give me a chance to learn from my mistakes! :)

Just to be sure you’re not just a random hater (or one i know personally).

    Thanks in advance!

  • *Ben not Sam,, apologies

  • Isn’t this the first version of Greyhound? MSG-one..

  • Yeah Rob.

  • 11. Tommy Trash – Cascade [PinkStar] w/ David Guetta – The World Is Mine [Ultra]

I’m sorry, but what? The world is mine is in a completely different key than Cascade, am I the only one hearing this?

  • @Alfred: I dont’understand, but i think you search the instrumental, which i think isn’t released so far.
This is a ”Main Room By Dylan” Reboot. Enter this in Facebook to find him for more infos.
@Rob: Same here, Dylan rearranged the MSG edit. Search him! ;)

@ Mike: Search me on Facebook (Dj Jim Byrne), i’ll upload the Bootleg

    Cheers.

  • @topic you are completely right… this mashup is very bad… not the same bpm AND bad mastering you can hear this on the end of the vocals… cascade is getting louder… it felt a bit like duckmode…

@jim byrne keep on your work…, BUT please learn from your mistakes!

for me it is a random mixtape, every 2nd guy can mix this one… it doesn’t belong here on beatmyday!

  • I have to agree with Ben here, mainly due to the EQ. Transitions suddenly drop in volume when you switch songs, I’m guessing you’re using a midi controller/mouse keyboard and a virtual mixing program, and that your crossfader has a direct feedback. This means that if the crossfader is is in the middle, both songs will be less loud than if the crossfader is on one extreme.

Got no issues with the track selection, good job there, but the EQ is pretty bad.

  • Also, I agree with tenpol & topic.
I’m not all for the Mixed-in-key software that is being used all over the place right now (I prefer listening by ear), but keep in mind that you use fitting acapellas.

  • tenpol & bruce
this was the first time i used ableton and i need to improve the EQ’s and volumes in the interludes/mashups in my next mixtapes, yeah!

    thanks for your answers!

  • I actually think this is a great mixtape, I also really enjoyed your previous ones.

    Keep it up!
