Still a Friday night dictator of all things Dance music to aspiring artists and fans across the globe, Pete Tong pulled out all the stops for another jam-packed Essential Selection. But the night was truly stolen by two very exclusive premiers from two of the most sought after artists at large in the industry. Pete treated fans across the globe to an exclusive listen of the legendary ‘Agag’ from Eric Prydz ahead of his debut 3-disc Pryda album coming out on Virgin Records next month. Now prone to finding his talented vocal contributors on Twitter, Deadmau5 was the next to shake the boat as might vocal spectacle ‘The Veldt’ was given a first spin and hailed essential new tune of the week.

Collecting the likes of Nari and Milani’s Beatport topper ‘Atom’ and fresh Sultan and Ned Sheppard track ‘Walls’, there was still time to give Avicii’s impending vocal anthem ‘Silhouettes’ another exclusive run. Legendary British DJ and longstanding mix master Fatboy Slim was on hand to provide this week’s guest mix, to which he donned a subtle mix of quirky remixes and Progressive bangers from across the spectrum.

  • Umm I thought ”Fade Into Darkness” was the first release on LE7ELS (by Avicii himself). O.o

  • We’re Still Here will be the first release on Le7els by someone other than Avicii himself I guess :)

  • Well yes to that :D And i hope btw that we see more releases on that label, mostly by Avicii himself

  • What is the status on silhouetes? Really want this track. I heard its supposed to be out soon

  • r3hab and swanky tunes remix of calling is huge :D

  • Asm: It’s just around the corner from the final release now.

  • anonymous: Cazzette, Skrillex, MYNC and Albin Myers have already made appearances on Le7els Recordings. If you count remixes that is.

  • I hate that Avicii’s on his way to being a sellout, but still love his tracks. That’s definitely the final version of Silhouettes, sounds much better than the ones he’s been playing live, and even months later I still love it.

  • Is there a page where i can find all of Pete Tongs essential selections?

  • Why wasn’t last weeks session posted? too little progressive songs?

  • JK: No, because last Friday Pete Tong took the night off.. It was replaced by an Andy George and Jaymo show.

We may highlight progressive tracks because we’re mainly a progressive/electro house site, but we have a great liking for deep/house/tech as well. (I, myself, listen a lot to especially guys like Vicenzo, Louis La Roche, Deetron, Subb-An, Solomun, Tim Green, Larse and more. Would happily give you a few tips if you like) Hence why you may have noticed the increased amount of posts in that area getting published.

  • @Anton: Good to hear! Would love to see some more deep/tech house on this site. Start posting stuff from Bedrock, Anjunadeep & Rejected!

  • heutZe: We already do :)
