There is no denying the hold French wunderkind Madeon has on Electronic Dance Music. But with an acclaimed performance at Electric Daisy Carnival New York under his belt, Hugo Leclercq returns to production duties for his second installment on his own Popcultur imprint. Where label debut ‘Icarus‘ raised a high-end mixture of sound melodic pop that beckons the positive vibes of an early 80s dance floor, his follow-up ‘Finale’ sees the young Frenchman depart from his potent signature take on French house for a notable step away from his comfort zone.
Driven by the urge to push something different for his latest studio endeavour, ‘Finale’s’ more down-tempo approach still teems with the same ambitious sounds and intricate melodic styling’s that have carried his reputation from the outset of his premature explosion. Armed with the stirring vocal styling’s of homeland peer Nicholas Petricca, the young and aspiring producer gains yet further momentum with an unexpected yet emotively refined follow-up to prove that the hysteria surrounding his spritely talents remain wholeheartedly earned.
‘Finale’ is out July 22nd his own Popcultur label.

Sounds fresh! Might be interepreted as commercial but in my eyes he’s just doing what he likes.
J says:
I’m just thinking about the genre. This is no dubstep, this is no house this is no und no Drum & Bass. So what is it?
But it’s amazing for sure
Zetheiser says:

Not something I’d listen to or play myself, but definitely a well made track as far as the preview goes. Even more amazing considering his age!

Mike says:
This is NOT house, neither is most of his work. Why is he covered by beatmyday? Not sure. I honesty think he is technically gifted but his tracks/songs are just not apealing. Stil gifted but doesnt belong here.
asdsad says:
@ Mike
Well I would classify this as some kind of Drumstep french house, but it’s hard to say what it is…
If you think the tracks aren’t appealing to you, that’s fine. But questioning why this track where covered by BMD I don’t understand.
1. They cover what they like, as long as it’s in some kind of sub genre of house music/EDM.
2. They don’t just cover pure house music, if that was the case, this would’ve been an blog with alot fewer readers & posts. For example they cover trance (not that much I think, but some I’ve seen over the years), progressive, dubstep, electro, french house etc.
diogo says:
Is good to know he have decent house music for the next 15 years…at least..

boucher says:
Good producer terrible performer
When he came to Waterloo a couple weeks ago the show was so boring
melfres says:
@boucher give the kid some time, he’s new at performing on stage.
Hector says:
the kid’s still in high school …
JSR says:
Very good track – some creativity at last.
Nevertheless i hate the communication, the dj like a god in front of the sheep crowd. Even if it’s true, it’s not worth watching.
DmRec says:
I can’t stop thinking this is a crossover between Daft punk and Justice, They’re all French!
Fluff says:
Fy fan vad GRYMT! Killen jobbar på som fan också, redan eget bolag och allt vad det är!
Hur mycket tror ni han tjänar?
