Having left Jaymo and Andy George to fill his regular slot last week, Pete Tong was back on hand with another gleaming instalment of his Essential Selection radio show.

Leaping between fresh material such as Dirty South’s remix of John Dahlback’s ‘Embrace Me’ and Adam Port’s Cocoon compilation stormer ‘Black Noise’, Pete’s dexterous approach to the pre-weekend soundtrack collected such further gems as R3HAB’s unreleased remix of Calvin Harris and Example’s ‘We’ll Be Coming Back’ and forthcoming Madeon original ‘Finale’ in one of his most jam packed shows of the year. With DifferentMe and Viadrina racing for the title of essential new tune, long serving British House veterans Groove Armada had the honors of nabbing the prestigious title for this week.

But flipping from one exclusive to the next, Canadian Electro master Deadmau5 joined Pete in the studio for this weeks ’15 Minutes of Fame’ slot to talk about his next full-length album and deposit some technically charged cuts to the prestigious airwaves of Radio One before eventually signing off with a bootleg of Gotye’s ‘Somebody That I Used To Know’ for yet another essential selection of exclusive new music.

  • Those three tracks in the middle of the Hot Mix! : O Great stuff!

  • heutZe: Yeah, the new Rejected release is huge! Coming out in 2 weeks

  • Anton: Yeah. Don’t Laugh and Turn You Out were fantastic aswell. Looking forward to it!

  • Essential New Tune: Groove Armada – Pull Up
Pete says the title, not an ‘ID’ by any means..?

  • on another note, why all the confusion around the name of Embrace Me? Several times have I seen or heard it being called ”Embrace”..?

  • Carl: Pull Up is an old track from Groove Armada and doesn’t sound anything like the one Pete’s playing. Might be a 2012 version or similar though.

As for ‘Embrace Me’, Dirty South named it just ‘Embrace’ on his radio show.

  • ONE MORE TUNE = Gotye – Somebody That I Used To Know (Marco Faraone Re-Edit) – Unreleased

  • Re: adg100 – Sure hope you are wrong, she is very talented.
