On the merits of affirmative action in the name of Dutch House music, the tectonic movements of Fedde le Grand and his multi-dexterous peer Nicky Romero make them an increasingly powerful asset to industry and nation alike. Following up on Januarys two track EP giveaway, the heavyset duo reunites for the melodically charged collaborative romp ‘Sparks’.
Vivacious leads and unfathomable energy aside, Romero’s new school stead and Fedde’s undisputable studio talents unite with solid yet profoundly melodic integrity for a hefty injection of EDM more than fit for the ensuing festival season. Where their nations efforts may have become severely typecasted over the years, this Dutch collective breath a fresh air of versatility into the heart of Europe’s leading House nations that is certain to do the rounds across the globe this summer.
The instrumental mix is out now. Grab it here.
Update (21/8): The vocal version featuring Matthew Koma will be released August 27.
Update: Official video added

Sven says:
Yhis track is amazing, but I like the vocal version more
canuck says:
Sounds great.!
manu says:
Boring, repetitive music I’ve heard already too much in the last years. Try something different, be creative…
Alfred says:
Manu +1, todays tracks are so boring…
Purtnit says:
Good, but not as good as the 2011 releases.
Erik says:
We have heard this before……….. fedde should get inventive and romero’s got only this sound aghh I’m getting bored!
DrewK says:
Agreed. Sounds all too familiar.
MB says:
He looks like Günther on that pic! Sry Fedde….
Bigbrother says:
I have to admit it’s so familiar…. It gets boring….
John says:
Nicky use the exactly same riser in every production. Maybe it’s time to change?
And indeed it’s boring. Nothing new and creative at all.
He has to come up with something new, or he will lose it.
Buru says:
Come on Fedde, you can do way better than this. Do not let Romero fuck up your productions. Can not remember a good track by Romero he released or previewed lately. I think he already lost it.
Trey says:
I am a huge Fedde fan, but this is absolute trash. The guy had so many great productions last year, this year is completely disappointing.
alex says:
Am I the only one who really likes this?!
tyler says:
It’s not catchy, it’s not a banger…yawn. It’s just notes really. I’ll admit it’s a little better than some of the garbage produced today, but that’s not saying much.
I think the worst part is that DJs will put this track in their sets because it has two big names attached to it.
oskar baeten says:
this sounds refreshing, nice melody!! I see myself dancing to this one
oskar baeten says:
@John, the riser is just a combination of groan-ish synth (probably sylenth) arpeggiated to max with a standard FX of vengeance ultimate fill ins.. if you want me to look the exact one up, shout;)
ASD says:
Oskar Baeten:
The riser is made using a lot of flanger on the white noise, opening the filter and pitching. Probably sending the pitch to the LFO and then increasing the speed/rate of the LFO.
John says:
@oskar baeten Sure, that would be great! Always wondered how he does that, even though I’m a bit tired of it
Kid says:
How is this not innovative? The melodi is so unique. I for one think this is awesome. I’ve had this melodi in my head for a couple of days now. And im usually real sceptical to todays productions.
Nick says:
Wow, I cannot believe people are hating on this track. I saw someone mentioned it at least, but I think this melody is amazingly original. The vocal’s by Koma are brilliant, and the track is uplifting, yet still something you really ‘feel’. Anyone saying this resembles any other production really hasn’t named anything, so it’s just another case of pointless, baseless trolling founded on ignorance.
