Following on from a potent rework of Gotye and Kimbra’s infamous ‘Somebody That I Used To Know‘, which ultimately helped him officially seal the prestigious approval of Eric Prydz on the newly launched EPIC Radio podcast, Whartone regular Richard Knott returns to the record label of Sonny Wharton after his 2010 EP for the release of ‘Portals’.
Albert Einstein once suggested that it takes a genius to keep things simple, and the Liverpool producer’s latest original surely fits that description. In a concoction of warm, summer-y leads and growling basslines, complemented by ambiguous vocal chants, Richard Knott’s latest release is not just another addition to his back catalogue but proves that his emotive and ‘quality-over-quantity’ approach continues to prevail amidst an industry more commonly recognized by its intricate Electro House or high-pitched synths.
