Despite being more commonly associated with the heavier-set offerings currently doing the rounds on the Scandinavian club circuit, you can rest assured there has always been plenty of talent to be found amidst Denmark’s Deep and Tech House exports. Stepping up to the mark for their undoubtedly biggest summer contender yet, Copenhagen duo Morten Trust and Mikkel Wendelboe are surely bringing justice to their name by donning a hefty dose of their soulful wizardry to make up the latest release off their own label. But with so much talk about selling out and mainstream crossovers, the deep bass, unremitting vocal line and perfectly pitched lead play that comprise Soulmagic’s ‘Someone Like You’ come as a refreshing breathe of air from one of Scandinavia’s most underrated House outfits.
