Given the ease to which Flo Rida found means to desecrate Ivan Gough and Feenixpawl’s ‘In My Mind’, its remix duties were always going to be met with a hint of scrutiny. But facing this outright anthem for 2012 like a man possessed, 18-year-old Aussie hopeful Walden is the second to give ’In My Mind‘ a formal remix following his own spree of duties for Cobra Starship and Rebecca and Fiona alike.
While the original was always going to be a tough cut to follow, Walden’s deep Progressive lead work and overbearing beats make for a comfortable extension of the Aussie collective’s seminal outing. Still relishing in the distinct vocal stylings of Georgi Kay, the uplifting remodel breaths a fresh breeze of festival sensibility into an otherwise untarnished landmark for Australian Dance music and Axwell’s Axtone Records alike.
