A lot has changed on the popular music circuit since the unfortunate passing of Bob Marley some 20 years ago. So when Island Records came to plan a re-release of his ‘77 hit ‘Jamming’ alongside The Wailers, they chose to embrace the influx op Pop/Chart collaborative stylings by engaging with Milan’s militant House asset Benny Benassi in order to extend the shelf life of the undisputed king of reggae.

Hot on the heels from remixing The Temper Trap’s ‘Trembling Hands‘, Benassi’s take on ‘Jamming’ sees him present yet another signature remix, adding his euphoric synth work for something of an uptempo breeze over the significantly timeless top line.

Due out September 2nd.

  • btw, you guys should post Basto’s new track called Bonny, just sayin’

  • and also do a post for Grant Smillie & Walden Feat. Zoe Badwi – A Million Lights !!! One of the best this summer :)

  • Benny är så sjukt duktig!

  • Värdig remix

  • Just like Afrojack’s interpretation of late Mr M Jackson.. some things are better left untouched IMHO

  • It was starting to good so good.. and then the dubstep ruined my moment.

  • Boring!!! Typical Benassi sound: bland, repetitive and uninspiring. Obviously this will get a lot of play because it’s Bob Marley but it’s such a shame they didn’t give the honour of this big remix to a more talented producer instead.

  • JK

You are so right! Neither Benny or anyone else is worthy remixing The Legend!

  • @Ed Clowes: Benny might not be a talented producer to you, but for some, he’s one of the most talented in the game.

  • I was very spectical when I saw they remixed Marley, but I was pleasently surprised. This remix is fresh, and brings a new sound to the game imo.

  • This remix is fucking awesome and it will fuck some dance floors… Fuck the haters…

  • LOL @ all the Benassi fan boys. He’s a terrible producer, a slightly better DJ, and completely uninspired in both fields. Tell me something that stands out about this track from anything else you’ve heard this year. The dubstep breakdown sounds like the one on the new Justin Bieber track and the progressive house melody and top line synths sound So bland it’s unbelievable. It’s just corny. There’s no soul in it. I’m sure lots of you will ”rage” to it at your ”EDM shows” with your neon paint and fluorescent clothes, but as I said I wish they had given the honour of remixing one of the greatest artists the world has ever seen to someone who didn’t just carry a big name, but had some talent and inspiration too. I’m not a hater, just speaking in facts.
