By far the most impressive young contender to emerge from the European Dance explosion, French Electro connoisseur Madeon remains an unstoppable beacon of hope amid the crowded industry heyday. Fresh off the mark from his blistering second single ‘Finale’ for Popcultur, the junior mixmaster follows the theme of vocal gems with ‘The City’.
Strung with a firm topline courtesy of LA based Funk/Pop hopeful Zak Waters, this strong third outing fuses the uplifting qualities of Madeon’s fluid synth work with the radio-friendly character that has made his early-rising output so crucial to the modern industry. In a far less experimental vein than its predecessor, ‘The City’ looks sure to be one of the most defining moments to fall upon this early explosion of France’s next great chapter in the history books of Electronic music.
The extended mix will be released October 8 as part of a ‘The City’ EP, featuring a Netsky remix of ‘Finale’ and two unreleased mixes of ‘Icarus’.
