At the tail end of a year that has spelt politics, perseverance and the impending split of the Swedish House Mafia, Steve Angello returns to the solo spotlight with his latest Size Records release ‘Yeah’. First previewed in its final form by Pete Tong with an introduction by Angello himself, the follow-up to ‘H8RS’ alongside AN21 & Max Vangeli shifts Steve from the behind the scenes of his Size Records stronghold and back into the drivers seat for a track that had little-to-no chance of passing quietly upon the industry.
As a man renowned for upping the ante where production values are concerned, Angello’s awkward opening leads are met with the uplifting synth work that has characterized his scattered studio legacy throughout. Still packing a strong universal punch within its heavyset beats and scattered chanting samples, ‘Yeah’ is far from the product of a man clinging to the remains of mainstream glory, but the re-emergence of an essential Swedish asset who has survived the shift to the global charts only to return stronger than ever before.

Ritchie says:
That intro …
Johnny says:
Regarding to the 2011 version, will this also be the case when you buy Yeah on iTunes?
Anton says:
Johnny: I guess so, yes. It isn’t available on iTunes yet though, hence why I only mentioned Beatport.
Jolle says:
Of topic: Don’t you worry child extended and acoustic is released! they even brought the save the world remix from zedd in the package too
Will says:
The only good thing about this is that the 2k11 version will be included (someday).
Stefce Todoroski says:
Sounds really fresh and really festival !!! Cool stuff.
Tobbe says:
Marcus says:
”50 cents of each sale will go to Angello’s SIZE Foundation charity”, är inte det sjuuuuuuukt snålt?
However, efterlängtad release.
EMIL says:
@Marcus: well at least he’s doing something for charity. and that’s after all better than not doing anything
Anton says:
Marcus says:
@J
Klagade inte, framförde bara en åsikt. Har ju dessutom köpt låten.
@Anton
My bad, kom på det i efterhand.
Jay says:
Long-awaited!
Ouon says:
Release the 2011 version asap!
F says:
Stefce Todoroski: +1
Jeff says:
”eurotrance”? Känns rätt avlägset från house.
Leon says:
I have to say without hating that this is a very average track. I dont quite get all the hype for a track like this being two years in the making.
Nothing special or innovative whatsoever. good track though
heutZe says:
@Jeff: Nothing. This isn’t house music.
Joe says:
this sucks
Jeff says:
Christian Angello says:
Thanks beatmyday for noting me as the source! 2011 version very rockish. Loved when he used the 2k11 version as his intro for sets.
