In the aftermath of his highly-acclaimed Pryda Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1, renowned Swedish master of the melodic anthem Eric Prydz is yet to rest on the laurels of his Pryda moniker just yet. Following a lot of teasing and countless appearances in his sets, ‘Power Drive’ is out now through his own Pryda Recordings.

Bringing his A-game in regular Pryda fashion, the stern emphasis on melodic progressions and vintage charisma marks an exciting extension of the uplifting club hallmarks that have seen the Swedish heavyweight reign supreme over the past few years.

  • Excellent melody!

  • Nice but I want Ocean Drive :( !

  • Prydaaaaaaaaaaaa Power !

  • yawn

  • For all those who are b*tching about this release not being a typical Pryda melodic release, let me remind you that Eric produces music for his DJ sets first, and then decides which ones to release. So I’m grateful for any of his tracks to be released.

Second, he cannot please everyone with one release, but he can please almost everybody when playing live, and that’s what being a DJ is all about. In his essential mix, after Power Drive, he played Clapham – which is a typical melodic Pryda track. I’m sure he does that live as well so voila, everybody happy!

He should have released Clapham as a B side track, that would have been peeerrrfect though..

  • Saw him play this live at Ultra and it was nuts

  • Something different from what I expect him to produce, but I love the arrangement like the drop at 4:30 when there is a 8 beat kick drum set out. when it comes in it is so pushing. Well made tune!
