Having made widespread impact on the industry over the past two years, it’s no secret the flourishing ascent of Deniz Koyu knows no boundaries. With the trenchant release of Grunge in early 2010 paving the way for his acknowledged break-through, followed by Lose Control and releases like the remix on My Feeling and Time Of Our Lives, it was on a wave of acclamation 26 year old Koyu entered 2011 uncertain of the peerless triumphs ahead of him. Not only has his filthy yet uplifting offerings dibbled a somewhat accurate image of his musical preferences, but also pioneered a world renowned signature sound and the widely known ability to scoop recognition from the grandest of electronic dance music icons, the Swedish House Mafia, Fedde Le Grand and Tiësto included. Exchanging his long-term indenture with the Scream And Shout label for a successful signing with Flamingo, the record label of Fedde Le Grand and Funkerman, along with the release of Tung! in late June, the now Breda-based Deniz Koyu has become the mastermind responsible from some of 2011’s most prominent club anthems. And with the aforementioned Tung!, Hydra, Hertz, the dynamic remix on James Blunt’s Dangerous alongside Johan Wedel and an upcoming cut of Kaskade’s Turn it Down making up his highly-rated discography thus far, numerous shows back-to-back with Fedde, non-stop traveling and a bundle of forthcoming hits are merely a few of the things awaiting the German in the bright times ahead.

Nextly is the show in the vast halls of Ambassadeur in Stockholm, Sweden on Friday, at the holy digits of 11-11-11.

Standing firmly placed with both feet at the very marrow of clubland after an oustandingly steady rise since 2001, the accomplishments of Ryan Raddon, better known as Kaskade, are nothing short of amazing. As he’s currently preparing to release another artist album, entitled ”Fire & Ice”, there is undoubtedly nothing holding back the Chicago-bred veteran. Although he debuted his first album in 2003, it was not until the indenture with Ultra in 2006 that the ascension of Kaskade truly took off, leading him into a placing amongst modern-day’s most highly-rated DJ’s in terms of electronic dance music. And he has most certainly shown dignity of maintaining a position of such calibre as 2011 has been an utterly fruitful year for the man recently voted America’s Best DJ. Responsible for stainless remixes on Skrillex’s Scary Monsters And Nice Sprites and Daft Punk’s Rinzler and the album count-down releases of Eyes and Turn It Down so far this year, Kaskade emerges the halls of Club Ambassadeur in Stockholm, armed with an armada of unreleased records off his forthcoming double album, for a night to remember.

Having attended all of the previous three Where’s The Party? by Carlsberg parties this year to great delight, a hype, large as the Great Wall of China, was covering the surroundings for last night’s grand finale in Sweden capital. And it sure was a full-on mayhem that took place in the spacious venue of Frihamnshallen in the harbour of Stockholm, fulfilled by the God-like stage experience of the Carlsberg tour’s recurring household name – Axwell.

With a number of releases coming up on Size Records and a ton of hit remixes and singles out, Sebjak returned to his fellow native city to deliver a fourth and final uptempo warm-up for one of the globe’s grandest House pioneer’s. Opening up a string of tech offerings, it was with great pleasure to the aural cavities the well-reputed Swede hit the decks just after 10 PM for his close to two hour long set, mainly made up by the forthcoming squadron of releases Sebjak has got ahead of him. Facing a future of great success, the tribal sounds of his remarkably characteristic offerings would, with last night’s brilliant set-up, outplay any pre-set of this magnitude. The mood within the walls of Frihamnshallen was slowly but steadily on a seething rise along with the ever growing pack of electronic dance music head’s that replenished the venue. With an eager crowd, going absolute nuts as early as hours before the influential Ax was scheduled to play, I think it’s pretty safe to say last night was up for the test as Sebjak implemented his duty of a vital mood-raiser with the screening of tons of hot out from the lab-material such as Tommy Trash’s Future Folk, Third Party’s Feel and numerous record’s from the Stockholm native himself.

Being the king of Summer anthem’s, one third of Sweden’s eminent House music export and the live act the whooping 4000 strong crowd were anxious to see, an armada of camera displays lit up the building as the curtain dropped along with the kick-off of the hit single that 2011’s Axwell tour is built upon – Heart Is King. Following Ax’s 2011 trademarker was the one record Afrojack named this year’s best release of his own Wall label, Sending My Love, and frankly, after witnessing it being a prime-time moment last night, there is most certainly no arguing with that statement. As the night lingered, the newest making, entitled Hertz, from the talented Deniz Koyu was given an exclusive first play just minutes before the guitar riff and grooves of Michael Calfan’s astounding Resurrection built up the tension further until the fourth and upcoming Swedish House Mafia single was touted in the major set-up of Funktion One-speakers with its dizzying trance filled synth leads and mind-blowing drop-off, mashed with the impeccable breakdown of Dirty South’s new Walking Alone and Miami 2 Ibiza’s graceful arrangements. Perfection and persistent enactings of Ax’s world renowned uttering’s “Goosebumps never lie” and “Turn off your brain, turn on your heart” have elevated the DJ and producer that was placed amongst the top 10 globally in DJ Mag’s top 100 last year and it was nothing but one of the world’s most prominent live performers and producers we witnessed causing a flawless mayhem from our panoramic view at the backmost of the venue throughout the night. Showcasing a different structure in comparison to his previous show’s, countless banging mash-ups and new and old material, Ax proved his worth of being a top-tier DJ with a supreme performance that only seemed to get better and better as the night continued towards the live efferent from the vocalist behind the global radio hit, Save The World. Finishing off with a playlisting and live anecdote of 2009’s Leave The World Behind that, even though the Swedish House Mafia was yet to be officially created, is considered the break-through of the trio, the general liking of last night gets our full-on 10!

As we now flash back on all four edition’s of the Carlsberg tour, I think it’s utmostly safe to state the set-up of this year’s Where’s The Party? events was a complete success, flipping from Båstad’s amazing night to the utter perfection of the Stockholm edition with a continued upgrade of light shows, speaker systems and venue lay-outs along the way – a journey many are not capable of doing. But fronted and fuelled by the almighty Axwell, an eager anticipation for Where’s The Party? 2012 and self-evident purchase of tickets are only facts from the treats of 2011.

Be sure to check out the videos in HD (720p) and the tracklistings after the break as well!

Don’t forget to check out re-caps of the pit-stops in Båstad, Visby and Gothenburg as well!

/Anton & Jesper

One of this planet’s most prominent DJ characters brought his utter A-game to the port city of Gothenburg to pull the weight for 2011’s third edition of Where’s The Party? by Carlsberg.

Where The Beatles, Elvis Presley and Michael Jackson all have been coined as inimitable has now succeeded in bringing aboard the king of sun-kissed Summer anthems – Axwell – to an untouchable spot as a steadily recurring headliner and one third of the highly-acclaimed Swedish House Mafia trio. His thriving personality stand merely speechless in comparison to the vast stage experience and immense ability to scoop success from the darkest of places with a host like no other, including Heart Is King and the ever so dance-friendly remixes of In The Air and Sweet Disposition (with Dirty South). And dance-friendly was most certainly the essential adjective for last night’s event at the large venue of Trädgårn, at which there was not a single square metre not occupied by the pumping fists of a true electronic dance music head.

Opening up with a set from one of Sweden’s most intriguing and ascending DJ’s to date, whom delivered a two hour heater which pretty much outshined the majority of all warm up-sets with its tremendous dynamics of throbbing club beats, old school riffs and sing-along tech anthems, the night was already off to a great start about to get nothing, if not better! From the 2011 contender from Duck Sauce, Big Bad Wolf, to numerous forthcoming smashes from his truly, Sebjak showcased widespread skill in mixing, live mashups and records like Third Party’s already highly rated Feel hit and Tommy Trash’s mighty electro follow-up to The End which we now can unveil is named Future Folk.

Coming off a year of stupendous prosperity from the global support from the House and EDM scene, the tension at last night’s event with Axwell was dangerously close to touchable as the slamming hook of Alesso’s breakthrough single was touted in the top of the line speaker system along with the Bentley’s of all effect set-ups pushing towards what some might refer to as the “true Swedish House Mafia experience”. Well, now we sure know what this mob is capable of doing as the yet not benamed single collaboration with Knife Party was a crucial gem to the introduction of the set of Sweden’s most celebrated DJ export last night. Although the Swedish House mobsters have shown indications of hosting a solid amount of tracks throughout each set, Ax boasted Sunday night with innovative reinforcements in shape of a couple of previously unknown ID’s and countless stirring mash-ups from the Swedish trio with a purpose to please our aural hollows like only a superstar can. Dominated by productions from established Swede’s and talents of camp Swedish House Mafia, the craving thousands saw Axwell drop, not one, not two, but well over a dozen vital peak-timers throughout the night, including Calling, Levels and the trio’s remix of Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall by Coldplay to name a few. To please a craving crowd with the built-in technics of a mixer and three cd-players has become a crashing ability of the man – who’s all about the heart and its stunning fixtures like purveying a setting of goosebumps along with the aural pleasure a bouncing baseline can provide in combination with catchy big room synths – and his wingmen and is frankly even further astonishing when watching a 2000 strong mob literally go nuts to the monstrous icon’s set of club anthems. To top it all off,  Save The World-vocalist John Martin joined in to celebrate his birthday vibrating his vocal cords to the sing-along hit Swedish House Mafia’s latest single release has become from the looks of last night’s chanting crowd.

Well, I tried but “you can’t explain it – you got to experience it!” Hope these HD videos below will clear things up and be sure to grab yourself a ticket next time any of the three mafioso members is emerging a town near you.

Size does matter. That was the fact the acclaimed Size brothers presented us at the sold out event in Gothenburg last night. With well over 1700 clubbers raving in the spacious venue of Trädgår’n to the remarkable selection of top offerings from Sebjak, AN21 and Steve Angello – three of the most prominent Swedish exports within house music today – last night’s event was pretty much ineffable. As the tribal sounds of Sebjak came to an end, the hankering crowd watched AN21 tout the orchestral sounds of Valodja as the opening for his second show in Sweden of the year. Known as the little brother of Angello, the young earnest, current with a new debut album on Size alongside Max Vangeli, screened just why he’s worthy a placing amongst the top-tier DJ’s across the globe. Serving us up with glimpses of the new Size album, including the yet not previewed Fresh Start, the ever so catchy, new Dirty South take on Skylar Grey and an unkown tune, his outgoing set can be concluded with his well-known liking for infectious basslines, silky synth leads and his vibrant scene character. Following the unprecedented success of the Swedish House Mafia and his beloved Size Records imprint, Steve Angello returned to his fellow Sweden as a home-coming hero of class. Not even named yet, the new mafia single is already a throbbing and essential gem, responded to last night as nothing but with a contagious vibe of eagerness and vividness. As one third of the highly-prosperous Swedish tripod, Angello advocated his established statement, “Size Matters”, undoubtedly with a full-on, smash night of the ascending house scene. Showing off the all new Alesso and Sebastian Ingrosso single named Calling, the newest tendering from Tim Mason – a remix on Lucid – as well as a well familiar but unknown ID, last night’s high-end show was the biggest I ever saw and a firm enacting of him and his famed record label. Tracklistings for AN21 and Steve Angello can be found after the break.

Skylar Grey – Invisible (Dirty South Remix)

Sun or rain. It doesn’t really matter when it comes to two of the world’s currently largest House artists serving their fellow natives up with high-class offerings and a full-on show with astounding effects. Like a true Swedish House hero, Axwell brought both sun and his impeccably hand-picked tracks to tout along with the chanting crowd and the flowing champagne sprays. Featuring the new Swedish House Mafia single, Alesso and Sebastian Ingrosso’s forthcoming Calling and the groundbreaking Swedish House Mafia remix of Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall, Where’s The Party? by Carlsberg screened another unprecedented show, tipped with the energic Ax, coming on the heels of their premiere Summer party of the year in Båstad last week. In celebration to his last release, Heart Is King, his innovativeness and stage experience was put to the test yet again as the hotly anticipated Visby week was officially kick started with the sounds of Alesso’s Nillionaire smash. Merely 24 hours after – it was time for the master of melodic house to seize the venue of Kallbadhuset with an on-going dispute concerning his Fade Into Darkness hit in full swing. The Swede that has floored countless of big room venues, sold gold with the release of Seek Bromance and having a squadron of forthcoming mega anthems on his shelves, there is no stopping Stockholm-originated Avicii! Not even released yet, Levels has become a firm peak-timer and well acquainted with the loyal Avicii fans which was most certainly indicated on Wednesday’s after beach – at which Tim Bergling played a brand new vocal version of the sought-after Silhouettes, formerly starring vocals from the renowned Swedish pop singer Salem Al Fakir. From the melodic synths to a pounding selection, Avicii played two entirely different sets in his two gig-marathon ending with the distinct and sweaty ambience of Burmeister was pushed to its utter limit by the

The instantly iconic sound of Gregori Klosman has helped establishing himself as the reputed shooting-star from France, well on his way towards the very top. Despite his sound’s lack of immediate commercial appeal, fame and prosperity seem to have had no trouble founding its way to the Parisian. Having just made his very first, prime-time appearance in Pete Tong’s Essential Selection in front of over two million listeners just last weekend, courtesy of the tremendous Stronger remix alongside Chuckie, Klosman has just kicked his streak off as the new Endless single on Fedde Le Grand’s Flamingo Recordings is just around the corner. As the vibrant and vigorous DJ and producer hailing from Paris, Klosman entered club Madison’s in Båstad, Sweden last night as nothing but with a large and dynamic set on his hands. Flipping from The Moment and his take on Sweet Dreams to the Bounce hit and his remix of The Flavour, one could most certainly state a complete satisfaction just from the looks of the tracklisting. Not only did he serve the urging crowd up with his last releases, but also presented us a premier spin of a brand new single of his named Kameha – an offering we most likely will be seeing quite a lot of with its hardhitting trademark and well-shaped breakdown.

Adrian Lux – 21:30 – 23:00

From 2010’s glorious Teenage Crime instalment on Axtone Records to a forthcoming masterpiece, Lux is most certainly prepared to bounce his highly regarded trademarks at Air Festival at the end of July. His wildly demanded gems have been throbbing dance events all around the world since taken under the wing of superstar DJ Axwell last year, which posteriorly led to indenture with the influential Ultra Records. Adrian Lux’s steady runup has been fueled by quite a few smashes along the road, including Strawberry, Can’t Sleep and 2011’s icebreaker hit remix of Bullets alongside Nause and is yet emerging the top as he just recently released a follow-up, Boy, to last year’s Summer anthem. Being requested to remix Daft Punk’s major come-back single, Derezzed, and highly-topical with his stirring rendering of Pnau’s Solid Ground single, this Swede has got quite a few aces up his sleeve as he’s got the essential 2011 contender on the rise named Fire, bringing back the unique voice of Lune aboard.

Adrian Lux feat. Lune – Fire

Style of Eye – 23:00 – 00:30

The superlative Refune representative Style Of Eye has made quite a few stunning appearances lately, riding the wave of positive vibes from his release of Antidote in late 2010, which just recently was remixed by the tech master duo Pleasurekraft. His unique touch and submission to the electronic dance music scene has been a vital piece as he’s currently placed as one of the few producers that have truly fabricated a distinguished sound for themselves. Making recurring appearances on the prestigious record label of Sebastian Ingrosso, most recently the Miami contender, Sexx, and as the tip of the alternative remixer for camp Swedish House Mafia, this Stockholm-based Swede is undoubtedly a prominent weapon for the Swedish export within EDM. Not only did he grace Alex Metric and Steve Angello’s Open Your Eyes original in early May, but reappeared to remix the Swedish House Mafia and their last sing-along anthem, Save The World alongside his compatriot, Carli in June. With the recently fired away Wet / Dry EP under his belt as well, he’s more than ready to serve the crowd in Sundsvall up with a pinch of his exquisite sound.

From the middle eastern sounds of Valodja to the preparations for a forthcoming artist album, AN21 returns to his fellow Sweden as a superstar DJ and producer, hard to equal. Hope you haven’t forgotten to check out our recap of Summerburst Festival as well!

/Anton & Jesper

SPG Live presents the first issue of Summerburst Festival in Sweden. As the horde of electronic dance music lovers emerged the vast venue of Stockholm Stadion for the first ever one day-festival in the capital, an intense setting of the industry’s finest DJ’s were collected to serve the over 10 000 strong crowd up with a whooping 10 hour of genuine and uplifting sounds of House and all its elements.

The majority being some of Sweden’s peerless exports within House music, the event was also crammed with a massive, two hour set from France’s superstar David Guetta whom, with a string of hits under his belt, rocked the arena in and out. Opening up with the Axtone and Ultra-signed artist Adrian Lux – whose crafting of Teenage Crime last Summer has elevated him to the very top – and his impeccable liking for a sublime and extensive selection of records, the day proceeded with a short, but keen set from Chromeo’s Winter and a stunning offering from the two Swedes behind Dada Life, which set was pushed forward a bit due to another festival gig alongside Lux later that very evening. As John Dahlback picked up one of his favorized vocalists, Erik Hassle, to open up his set with the performance one of Dahlback’s new singles the show continued with his distinguished and catchy sounds. Due to flight delay, Calvin Harris could not make his set time, which was placed into the hands of Stockholm native and renowned DJ/producer Sebjak, shedding light on a few new pieces some air time, including his new single alongside Johan Wedel and AN21 & Max Vangeli’s remix for Swedish House Mafia. The acclaimed Avicii graced the evening further, giving the official vocal mix of Penguin and two unknown tracks spins for the eager vibe at the arena as David Guetta finalized the event with an airing of his next single – Little Bad Girl. Thomas Gold, then seized the halls of Magenta to offer us his forthcoming remixes for Sander Van Doorn and Adele as well as a bunch new singles from the German, including his new single alongside Dirty South, obviously named Alive.

The official closing party for Summerburst Festival takes place in the halls of Ambassadeur, hosted by none other than Eric Prydz. This Swedish DJ and producer knows no boundaries when it comes to creativity and uniqueness. Starring as one of the headliner’s of this year’s Summerburst on Stockholm stadium, Pryda brings his game to seize Ambassadeur with the distinguished Sébastien Léger and his own, unearthed talent Jeremy Olander on board. He’s managed to establish himself as an acclaimed underground icon in a industry, flooded with anticipation for uplifting piano house and has been a major inspiration for producers across the globe thanks to his immense brilliance. Going from an unwished-for music video for 2004’s hit single Call On Me to the massive sounds of last year’s anthem – Niton, it’s just about time this fellow prioritizes his fellow native compatriot’s love and passion for the star in shape of numerous homeland shows. Hailing from France, Sébastien Léger co-stars this mighty evening, currently riding the wave his splendid blend of chunky beats and smooth sounds has provided for him. With the recent release of the fluctatingly massive Bees on the shelves, Léger sets sails for a night of brilliance in Sweden capital. Hand picked as a new talent emerging the top of the scene by Prydz himself, Jeremy Olander finalizes the setting for Sunday’s event. Following a signed recording deal on Pryda Friends and instalments on Phazing Records and Spinnin, Olander just uncovered two new pieces of art called The Drew and Animal Garden. As it was just unveiled that the Pryda 20 EP is due to be released on June 13th, the upcoming show in Stockholm is most certainly going to head down a similar path as his newly launched show concept enacts – EPIC.
