To the vast majority of the globes club minded aficionados, Justin Bieber’s sugary pop musings are the stuff of nightmares. But never scared to extend their flattening Electro fuzz to uncharted territory, Swedish sausage grinders Dada Life follow up their high profile remix of Madonna’s ‘Girl Gone Wild’ with an ambitious take on the teenage heart throb’s latest single ‘Boyfriend’.

While Dada Life still push their signature calling card of heavy-set hallmarks of their now global legacy, the duo make respectable ground for this pop/club transition of controversial properties. Scoring melodically refined progressions alongside the dissected top line of Bieber’s original chart-pleaser, their remix duties reign in as a triumphant extension of the duos daring discography for 2012.

Having seen Steve Angello bring us Size TV last month, the record label of Mark Knight is the next in line to get themselves their very own TV series. Besides high-quality video footage, Toolroom TV will also be going behind the scene to bring fans exclusive interviews with Dj’s and producers of Toolroom’s artist roster.

In episode 1, Toolroom Records flashes back on 2011 for a 26 minute HD video of memorable moments and a string of past and forthcoming releases off the label, including Mark Knight’s soon-to-be-released single ‘Nothing Matters,’ featuring Skin. After travelling to Ibiza to shed light on the Toolroom closing party at Space and a chat with Pioneer bedroom DJ competition winner Simon Ambrose, it’s back to London for Toolroom Knight’s massive fifth birthday party at Brixton Academy. Finishing things off, the momentous Amsterdam Dance Event enters the limelight, bringing us footage of Toolroom’s party at Escape and exclusive interviews with a few significant characters within the industry.

Episode 2 is scheduled for the end of June and will feature an extensive interview with Fedde le Grand and more.

Following two somewhat controversial yet successful digressions from his signature sound, Wolfgang Gartner returns to the sound that has characterized him as one of the most essential contributors to the electro-house scene over the past few years for a new original entitled ‘Flexx’. Fresh off the release of ‘Redline‘, Joseph Youngman’s forthcoming third single mark in 2012 hints of a far heavier approach than its predecessor’s blissful synths. Rife with robust kicks, heavily distorted chords and a voice-sounding lead, ‘Flexx’ proves that despite previous unorthodox Gartner offerings, there is still an affinity for the tougher beats left in this Grammy-nominated American.

Following on from the successful first episode and with a further launch of their own label on the way, Swanky Tunes release the second episode of their monthly podcast – ”Showland.” Mixing unreleased gems like Tommy Trash’s remix of Deadmau5 and Chris James ‘The Veldt‘ and their own forthcoming release on Wall alongside Hard Rock Sofa, entitled ‘The Edge‘, with such Beatport top 10 tunes as Alesso’s take on ‘Silenced By The Night‘, the Russian trio’s latest one hour mix showcases a solid blend of sing-along vocals and heavyset beats.

Initially premiered at Club Space in Miami a few years back, the Pryda single formerly known as the ‘Space Miami ID’ has now been announced to be called ‘Tijuana’. Originally produced back in 2007 while going through the Arizona desert on the way to Las Vegas for his North America tour, the recent announcement plays testament to that of ‘Tijuana’ possibly seeing its final release soon.

Despite not getting a spot on the ”Eric Prydz presents Pryda” album dropping on Monday, the track proves a strong contender for an inclusion on the full-length Eric Prydz artist album coming out this Fall. Set against a backdrop of steady beats and fiery instrumental work, ‘Tijuana’ consistently launches from deep melodic builds to energetic charges for yet another intricate belter to the name of this long serving club icon.

Having shed his new school accolades with the ‘Cool Cat, Hot Dog EP‘ alongside Peter Johansson earlier this year, longserving Swedish producer Niklas Gustavsson steps up to the mark with solo follow-up ‘Natural Thing’ alongside fellow countryman Ludvig Holm for Natura Viva. Mirroring Sweden’s currently potent club movements, their expertly fused outing of deeper House grooves and potent lead work make for an exuberant model for forward thinking club music. While its resolutely hypnotic samples and concise rhythmic persuasions tear it apart from the atypical Swedish anthem, its divergence is enough to hone in on the maximal energy and creative integrity boasted by these two fine specimens of Scandinavian talent.

Breaking away from the cheesier domains of vocal Dance music that have been found ruining a wealth of fine instrumental cuts throughout the year, the formidable top line of eccentric vocal talent Peter Josef reigns as fitting as it does contagious. Prancing between the perky beats and ambiently tuned melodies that make up ‘How You Make Me Smile’, Wisternoff is sure to conjure a few smiles from those utterly tired of the more predictable movements in Electronic music. Already seeing heavy support from the likes of Fedde le Grand and conjuring a #7 spot on the night edition of DMC World’s Ibiza Buzz Chart, ‘OMG’ sees the Tilburg-based producer turn to the tougher beats yet again for a somewhat distinguished blend of rhythmic, heavy-set drum work with blistering chords and soothing interludes.

As premiered by Adrian Lux on his Australian tour this past weekend, this successful threesome from down-under continue their studio output of synth-tinged vocal bangers with another belter to their names. Following on from the acclaimed release of ‘In My Mind‘ off Axwell’s Axtone Records, TV Rock’s Ivan Gough and Aussie duo Feenixpawl unite again for a remix of the arguably hottest record off Adrian Lux’s recent debut artist album for Ultra Records.

Embracing Dante’s seductive top line and the original’s intricate synth lines, the Aussie trio add an emotively charged lead and hard-hitting kicks for a far more club-friendly take. With a further collaborative effort alongside Georgi Kay in the pipeline, the collaboration of Ivan Gough and Feenixpawl continues to prove a winning formula as far as apt club contenders for the upcoming summer season are concerned.

Swedish duo Dada Life continue to showcase their affinity for the heavier-set realms of Electronic Dance Music, releasing a new 50 minute episode of their monthly podcast for May. Though not as intensely mixed as one could wish for, it is the fairly unique track selection that continues to set Dada Life’s monthly series of mixtapes apart from a crowd. Liverpool may have had its day in terms of Dance music’s potted history, but the Mersey’s latest emerging House talents Whelan & Di Scala have definitely made some positive noise between their hometown and the White Isle. Stepping back on track to take on fellow Liverpudlian Dada’s collaborative effort ‘Make You Feel’ alongside Surrey’s Mat Frost, the duo proves themselves aptly capable of extending the UK’s promising musical manoeuvres.

Still led by an entourage of sharp keys and stern beats, Whelan & Di Scala’s distinct lead play proves the winning factor in extending the originals already notable energy. Set to provide the summer season in Ibiza with a series of exclusive boat parties, this is yet another promising indicator that the UK is still hosting some formidable new talent.
