As an inherent ambassador to Slovenian Techno, Umek returns to his own 1605 Music Therapy imprint for his second single release of the New Year in the form of ‘I Need You’. Digressing from his energetic Techno stylings, Umek gets deeper with a chugging groove and an instantly recognizable rerunning vocal loop. In a genre that is too often dismissed as back-to-back beat tracks, Umek provides a skilfully executed cut that instil a strong degree of enthusiastic energy for club-rooted Tech House.

Out today on Beatport.

As an inherent ambassador to Slovenian Techno, Umek returns to his own 1605 Music Therapy imprint with the follow-up release to his ‘Slicing & Dicing’ EP in ‘It Is Simple But It Works Like Fcuk’.

Laced with ambiguous vocal samples and churning bass manoeuvres throughout, ‘It Is Simple But It Works Like Fcuk’ plays aptly out to it’s title with minimalistic substance. In a mixture of fittingly crisp hi-hats and swift percussions, it is the Eastern European veteran’s inimitable knack for detail that drives home this simple yet inherently infectious track as one of his best works in a long time.

Kalle Rönngårdh and Kaveh Soroush who make up Pleasurekraft return to remix duty after the recent cut on Sneaky Sound System’s We Love. Still thriving from the success of their 2010 hit, Tarantula, and this year’s follow-up, entitled Carny, the Swedish-American duo take on Heroes Of The Night – the newest single from Slovenian tech and techno legend Umek and Athens-based Christian Cambas – for a signature belter to add to their already top notch discography. Coming off remix duties of Antidote and the not yet released one on This Is What Rock N Roll Looks Like, Pleasurekraft make their second appearance on the 1605 label. Out now is a ravishing blend of filtered vocal parts, chunky and systematic beats with a touch of exotic, a mysterious and near to Deadmau5-sounding break-down, a solid vocal verse and their distinguished array of sounds to come together in unison.
