Dropping his usual bleep-happy emphasis for a concoction of darting leads and grinding chords, “Air Guitar” holds its corner as a fine Dutch house calling card to the stadiumesque properties now open to modern dance music. Setting in motion the anticipation towards his forthcoming full-length album, which is said to drop next month, this latest Ultra Music home run is sure to prove a peak time favorite throughout WMC.

Just when you thought the ‘Gangnam Style’ craze was over, the most popular clip in YouTube history is given an extended shelf life courtesy of Dutch-House protagonist Afrojack. No stranger to controversial remixes, the bonafide partyboy returns to the duties of remixing after taking on Michael Jackson’s ‘Bad’ for his official take of the PSY single.

Unsurprisingly swapping the entire instrumental of the original for his own, bleep-happy and grind-heavy sound, Nick Van De Wall complements the uninspiring vocal properties of ‘Gangnam Style’ with instrumental work that encapsulates the gritty energy that we have come to associate with Afrojack over the years.

Turning his head for the synth-laden terrains of Dance music, Nick van de Wall’s re-interpretation of ‘Sovereign Light Café’ sees him go in a similar vein as Alesso’s remix of ‘Silenced By The Night.’ Pitting Keane’s angelic top line against blissful leads and the high-octane Afrojack drops, the Wall label head avoids offence as much as one could’ve hoped for with this euphoric pop-to-club crossover.

Dutch House protagonist Afrojack returns to officially unveil one of 2013’s official anthems for Ultra Music Festival. Formerly known to fans as ‘Petsbud’, Afrojack’s guest mix for Danny Howard on BBC Radio 1 saw him confirm the name of this eagerly-awaited set-staple as ‘Air Guitar’.

Launching from familiar melodic builds into blistering and grind-heavy drops, ‘Air Guitar’ shows Afrojack in a less bleep-happy manner than that of latest single release ‘Annie’s Theme’ with surging chords and high-octane beat work throughout.
