Still tending to the flames of the original release, Jerome Robins and Crazibiza’s ‘Your Love’ receives a couple of remixes from Hungarian House protagonists Mike Newman & Antoine Cortez and Jerome Robins himself.
In a nostalgic sitting of steady disco beats and sturdy melodic leads, Newman and Cortez dive deep into the Balearic vibes for a strong headline remix. Never hesitant to exercising his vintage floor stylings, Robins turns the clock back two decades for a mix of funky piano play and gentle percussive swings over the classic vocal sample.
Out now on Beatport.
Disco and House may not be anything new combination, but with countless labels still pushing the vintage sounds of this timeless amalgamation, some real gems have emerged from the European shores. Que Bartouze, more commonly known as Bartosz Brenes, and Hungarian House protagonist Antoine Cortez, who have come together to release collaborative outing ‘Holy Funk’ on Groovetraxx Records.
Dealing in a straight-laced endeavour of grooving beats and tempered strings, ‘Holy Funk’ is House music you can sink your teeth into. Providing a rich and fertile canvas of feel good floor fuel, strong, funk-induced leads make this one of the more exciting offerings from the label for a good while.
Off the back of his hotly tipped Hed Kandi release ‘Come With You‘ alongside Mike Newman, Budapest’s Antoine Cortez makes his way back to the realms of straight-laced grooves to release his five-track ‘Miami Pop’ EP on GrooveTraxx Records.
In addition to the hypnotic samples and concise rhythmic persuasions that make up the three potent originals of the release, Cortez’s partner-in-crime Mike Newman is brought aboard along with That Peruvian Boy to take on remix duties for one of the more diverse House EP’s to have emerged from a newcomer this year. In a genre that is too often dismissed as back-to-back beat tracks, Cortez provides a collection of skilfully executed cuts that instil a strong degree of enthusiastic energy for Balearic House music.
With well over 10 years worth of contributions to an industry that in recent times has witnessed its ascent to the status of a well-acclaimed phenomen across the globe, Olav Basoski’s whopping 23 year long commitment to House music is one of essential properties. Coming off remix duties for Melleefresh and Deadmau5’s ‘Hey Baby‘, Amsterdam-based Basoski joins forces with Hungary’s Crazibiza for a new release off of the Budapest duo’s Pornostar Records. Already brandishing the seal of approval from DMC World’s latest Buzz Chart, ‘On The Run’ and its neoteric House concoction of disco vocals, groovy bass and subtle keys are accompanied by splendid renditions from Muzzaik and Mike Newman & Antoine Cortez to make up another finely tuned package of infectious disco-house for the Ibiza season.
Disco and House may not be anything new combination, but with countless labels still pushing the vintage sounds of this timeless amalgamation, some real gems have emerged from the European shores. Que Hungarian House protagonist Mike Newman and his European peer Antoine Cortez, who dutifully donned their collaborative outing ‘Come With You’ to Hed Kandi’s World Series: Miami compilation amid the hustle and bustle of WMC. Providing a rich and fertile canvas of feel good floor fuel, an infectious top line and further funk-induced leads make this one of the more exciting offerings from the label for a good while.
