In the same vein as ‘Andromeda’ and ‘Pegasus’, French melody maker Arias returns to his Olympia Records for his third instalment on the label with ‘Majoris’. Sporting his penchant for astrology-related titles and his inimitable knack for uplifting melodic play, ‘Majoris’ encapsulates the atypical Progressive House anthem with exemplary Arias mannerisms, featuring euphoric synth textures and the Parisian’s signature atmospheric energy.

Out April 29th.

Fresh off the release of ‘Andromeda’, Paris-based Arias returns to his own Olympia Records for round two with ‘Pegasus’.

With a blissful sound scope at hand, the French producer balances delicate melodic progressions with an ambient guise of stern chord play throughout this emotive club track. Without a single cheesy vocal sample in earshot, Arias sticks to his guns with yet another creative gem that highlights the essential talent that can still be found outside of the more typical regions of Progressive House.

Out now on Beatport.

Having initially caught the attention of the industry with ‘Magenta’ alongside Arno Cost back in 2006 and following up on last year’s ‘The Days To Come,’ Arias makes his overdue return to the original production front with the first release of his new Olympia Records label.

Teeming with intricate melodic stylings and that instantly recognizable vintage charm, ‘Andromeda’ sees the French beat smith continue down an avenue he has not only grown quite fond of, but also come to master over the past several years. While the fact that Andromeda is the name of the spiral galaxy closest to our Milky Way galaxy may hint at his outside-of-the-box approach to the genre or not we don’t know, but this meticulous display of Arias’ sound suggests that despite it’s meaning, there is an air of maturity in his work that is significantly lacking elsewhere in the industry.

In an era where DJ’s are regarded as rockstars and imitation seem to come in abundance, France’s Arias has remained as forward-thinking as ever. In the aftermath of the long overdue release of his remodel of ‘I Kissed A Girl’ and last year’s ‘The Days To Come‘ with Arno Cost, the Parisian extends the shelf life of his acclaimed take on Adele’s ‘Someone Like You‘ with a free download of the instrumental version. While most Adele bootlegs tend to become more or less useless with the removal of the English songstress’ angelic voice, the unremitting leads and sturdy beat work of Arias’ version continue to reign supreme, getting our hopes up for a possible free release of his Katy Perry rework in the process.

In an era where many producers tend to be unable to forge their own unique path but follow in others’, French DJ and producer phenomen Arias comes as an eminent innovator. Despite his few appearances on the production side of things, examples have testamented to the limitless scope of the Parisian’s creativity and ingeniousness. Primarily known for the eagerly-awaited and wildly underestimated The Days To Come with fellow partner in crime Arno Cost and vocalist Michael Feiner, it comes as no surprise that this talented Frenchman has laid his hands on the distinguished Someone Like You by Adele for an alternative interpretation now out to download for free in the most sentimental of times – Christmas. Mixing Adele’s soulful and outrightly incredible voice with soothing and mysterious undertones to later pave the way for a significant turn to proceedings and switch into a progressive synth play with hints of nostalgic French house and dominant bass lines, Arias’ version of Someone Like You is arguably one of the better ones to have surfaced this year.
