For all their industrious Progressions, creative Italy trio Daddy’s Groove have certainly mixed things up for a scene drenched in predictable club stylings. But where their recent ‘re-beats’ of ”Fire Like This” made promising noise for the Naples genre-benders, their debut release for Defected offshoot Azuli Records adds more positive light to their music over matter approach.

Brushed with a distinct set of grinding chord progressions, ‘P.I.M.P’ sits somewhere between the realms of Rock and Electro House with little sign of resting too heavily upon the prior’s hallmarks. While it’s apex may fall on the heavyset grinding and melodic manipulation, Daddy’s Groove ditch the tedium to don a whacky yet persuasive outing that is sure to take their mysterious grandeur to a new high.
