Joined by homeland songstress Clare Maguire, British producer Burns follows up last year’s ‘Lies’ with yet another potent original production in the form of ‘Limitless’. Leaping between Maguire’s angelic vocals and Burns’ poignant melodic stylings, ‘Limitless’ plays out with the anthemic and Calvin Harris-like stamina that we have come to associate with the Brit. On the flip, the accompanying remix package sees French big room maestro Arno Cost offer up a chugging electro house rendition before Gunther Beatz closes out the EP with an exemplary display of feel-good nu-disco.

Bringing club music to the global airwaves yet again, Scottish chart-hopper Calvin Harris teams up alongside London songstress Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine for the release of the fifth single from his upcoming third studio album, ”18 Months,” alongside an unexpected assortment of remixes of old school spirit and new school edge alike.
Somewhat more reminiscent of the original Dance icon that set ablaze the Olympic Games in Athens back in 2004 with a display of Trance wizardry than his output over the past year, the headline remix of ‘Sweet Nothing’ sees Tiësto utilise Florence’s vocal line with a mix of Trance and his more recent grasp on the Housier side of affairs. In a similar vein, Size-endorsed Swedish duo Qulinez showcases blistering chord play and synth-led opulence, leaving enough room for London producer Burns to round off the package in a far more inventive manner, complementing Welch’s angelic voice with an easygoing two-step rhythm.
Between the sterling label debuts for Stealth Records and Refune Records alike, Sweden’s Otto Knows has brought a considerable edge of melodic stamina to Swedish Dance music of late. Off the back his recent remix duties for Dada Life’s ‘Kick Out The Epic Motherfucker‘, the protégé of Sebastian Ingrosso takes on the hotly anticipated new of single London Electro trooper Burns entitled ‘Lies’.
Ditching the original’s warmer analogue imperfections for fluid peak time energy, Otto Jettman’s signature lead work and peak time energy work in considerable unison with the original’s spine tingling top line. In one of the most distinctive additions to his small yet quality output of productions, the rising Swede proves that that his nations musical legacy can still conjure a few sharp surprises.
Words by Dan Carter
Since setting the standard with his 2010 debut for Stealth Records alongside Tim Berg and Oliver Ingrosso, Otto Knows has beckoned uninterrupted attention across Europe for his fusion of Progressive House ear candy. But in the wake of potent Refune debut ‘Million Voices’ and the remix of Dada Life’s ‘Kick Out The Epic Motherfucker‘, Otto Jettman is back on remix duty to present his third release of the year. Previously known as the ”Decadence ID”, Jettman’s remix of London producer Burns‘ latest single ‘Lies’ marks his debut on Sony Music with a well tailored array of scattered synth work and lead driven peak time energy.
The Otto Knows remix of ‘Lies’ will be released September 17.
Update (18/8): Preview of the full remix is now available.
