Hot off the heels from releasing ‘Power Drive’ under his highly renowned Pryda moniker, revered dance music veteran Eric Prydz brings back his darker side with a two-track EP for his own Mouseville Records. Dropping almost two years after ‘Mokba’, ‘Thunderstuck’ and ‘Drums In The Deep’ see Cirez D make up for lost time with an energetically stirring techno release. Sporting propulsive drum patterns and an extension of his inimitable knack for detail, Prydz’s uncanny ability to switch between his different alter egos like it was nothing acts as an impressive arrow to the bow of the multifaceted Swede.

Out today on Beatport.

As premiered in his Essential Mix from Creamfields, which aired on BBC Radio 1 three weeks back, Eric Prydz saddles up for the continued crusade of one of electronic dance music’s most distinguished masterminds to date. Stemming from Sweden capital, Prydz has made certain of infecting the industry with his prodigious offerings over the past decade. After reluctantly relinquishing the commercial success of ‘Call On Me’ up the global charts in 2004, the icon prefers to nowadays instead be recognized by the outlets of his many experimental pseudonyms that have fuelled the upbringing of our Swedish music export. With an admirable musical capacity and creativeness, Prydz returns to one of the two aliases still in use, Cirez D, to present us another exploit. Following the releases of Mokba, the Tomorrow and Sirtos Madness EP, the remixes on Depeche Mode, Full Stop and the recent 2Night, a sweeping distortion has arisen to headline the next Cirez D single into acclamation. Being a record out of the ordinary, the freshly unveiled taster seems to not reveal the complete story as it ends promptly with a monstrous kick and leaves us eager in the wait for a longer insight. It’s to be released soon on Mouseville Records, have a listen!

Not only can he be regarded as the brilliance himself when it comes to showing off an astonishingly top-class side of production but has also proven himself a man, most certainly able to master and deliver a highly successful live show with the launch of the EPIC show in early April as well as his Ibiza concept at Amnesia – Tonight. Following up his last release on Mouseville Records in mid March, teaming up alongside Acki Kokotos for the Tomorrow and Sirtos Madness EP, the darker shape of Eric Prydz surfaces the scene again to make a smashing appearance. Referred to by the superior himself to be a special one, the PRY020 EP came out as nothing but, consisting of a total of three sought-after pieces of art. The Swede is now aiming the spotlight towards the fellow Cirez D alias as the new single named Mokba is emerging. With numerous recent offerings of his still bouncing around on the dancefloors, including his immense takes on Depeche Mode in early May, it doesn’t seem to be a replacer we’re spotting here today but a brand new peak-timer with its continuously pounding kick, tipped with a warped hook.

With the major Full Stop just out, Cirez D is now unleashing the 16th instalment on his beloved Mouseville Records alongside a new fellow in the industry, Acki Kokotos. Deeply inspired by the characterized sounds of the middle east, this EP will surely be one for the books, headlined by strings interacting with pounding beats and a heavy bassline brought together, resulting in one brilliant craft, Tomorrow. This package is dangerously close to madness, which probably is the thing the two masterminds would like to enact with this release naming the second tune Sirtos Madness. I’m not saying that’s a bad thing, quite the opposite actually since one have to breach new barriers to get recognition in this industry flooded with new productions right now.
