Appointed the official anthem for this year’s Global Gathering festival, Diffused Music regulars Paul Thomas and Andrew Bennett return hand-in-hand to the record label of Michael Woods for the release of a new original track titled ‘Datfunk’.

In a tough yet melodic production of light, high-pitched synth work and swift, festival friendly Electro, ‘Datfunk’ hits a perfect middle-ground between Thomas and Bennett’s respective signature sounds.

Out today on Beatport.

Proven a solid asset to the bigger picture in modern Progressive House over the past few years, Michael Woods calls upon American producer Andrew Bennett to drop latest peak time contender ‘Roadtrip’ on his Diffused Music imprint. Leaping from a hypnotic canvas of euphoric lead work to the increasingly popular chugging drops, the American’s fourth release on the label plays out with solid festival-esque substance. On the back of his solid synth riffs and potent beat work, Bennett continues to prove himself one of the more sound investments to Diffused’s Progressive and Electro empire for 2012.

If his studio output over the past few years has taught us anything, it is that as far as quality music goes, Michael Woods is quite the perfectionist. But in a bid to provide us with a track far more appropriate for the upcoming summer season than the tough beats he is commonly associated with, Stuart Browne, formerly known as one half of English duo Lay & Browne, teams up with Israel-based Flippers to play further testament to Woods’ A&R skills with their debut on Diffused Music. Given a edit by label head Woods himself, ‘Wild Card’ merges blissful synth lines with robust kicks for a solid tune for the summer on this English-Israeli duo’s behalf.

Responsible for bringing us some of the most diverse club gems over the past couple of years, Michael Woods’ Diffused Music imprint are now jumping on the bandwagon of Starkillers and Dmitry KO, adding their latest effort, titled ‘Light It Up’, to their already prestigious back catalogue. Featuring a brilliantly distorted lead and dominant baselines, this 15th instalment on Diffused after the label’s re-launch back in late 2010 is further testament to Woods’ remarkable A&R talents. Mixing things up with a synth- and computer voice-filled interlude, the dynamics and appeal of ‘Light It Up’ indicate that this soaring American pair was successful in the process of creating a track that not even Diffused’s label head, Michael Woods, was able to revamp in his slightly edited version.

High flying British club export Michael Woods, once known better under the infamous Trance moniker of ‘Warrior’, needs little introduction in the realms of Electronic Dance Music. Championed by an initial residency for hometown nightspot Ministry of Sound and a further signing to Mau5trap for ‘Dynamik’ and Chris Lake collaboration ‘No Sleep’, his prominence on the global club circuit has been relentless.

But under the guise of his Diffused Music imprint, this on the wing asset has made his hard-stomping output a truly home set affair and the follow up to ‘Full Access’ for Calvin Harris’s Fly Eye follows a tradition of vivacious bangers . Dealing in swooping melodies and a sturdy backbone of eccentric beats we now associate with Woods, this is another well-oiled banger to the promising European powerhouse of Progressive House anthems.

Although he is a well-acknowledged DJ and producer in electronic dance music, the global recognition ofMichael Woods has yet not fulfilled the corresponding worth of his qualitative productions. From the re-launch of his selective Diffused label with the release of No Access to the recently fired away edit of How R U Feeling Right Now, Woods has proven to be an essential asset to progressive tech House music and as he now releases a new offering through his own Diffused Music, the London icon is surely not showing any indications of simmering down his steady rise. Primarily premiered as an instrumental version in Mark Knight’s Essential Mix for BBC Radio 1 a while back in shape of White Sky, the London producer teamed up with fellow singer / songwriter Duvall for an explicit vocal version named Last Day On Earth. Coming on the heels of his most recent single, Bullet, through his Diffused label, Woods combines kicking disco-influenced grooves, funky sounds and the sensual voice of Duvall with his signature synth lines and a frisky melody for the sing-along club record that is Last Day On Earth.

The Amsterdam duo that is NO_ID returns to Diffused Music to avail the opportunity of following up April’s Sex Sells EP, which has been seeing persistent playlistings from Sander van Doorn and others. Headlined by a rather distinguished edit on behalf of label honcho Michael Woods himself, How R U Feeling Right Now is the next hit off the Diffused imprint to follow in the footmarks of such tremendous releases as BulletConductor and No Access. Also coming off the pair’s Summer contender of 2011 – Let It Out – an array of chunky beats, a looped vocal enacting the making’s title gracefully and servile piano chords make up the newest single out from NO_ID.
