De La Soul once suggested that three was the magic number. In an age and genre foreign to the history of Hip Hop, a collaboration between partners-in-crime and Spinnin’ regulars Starkillers and Dmitry KO and fast-ascending Sydney songstress Amba Shepherd is set to extend this infinite wisdom with ‘Let The Love.’

Responsible for bringing us some of the most diverse club gems over the past couple of years, Michael Woods’ Diffused Music imprint are now jumping on the bandwagon of Starkillers and Dmitry KO, adding their latest effort, titled ‘Light It Up’, to their already prestigious back catalogue. Featuring a brilliantly distorted lead and dominant baselines, this 15th instalment on Diffused after the label’s re-launch back in late 2010 is further testament to Woods’ remarkable A&R talents. Mixing things up with a synth- and computer voice-filled interlude, the dynamics and appeal of ‘Light It Up’ indicate that this soaring American pair was successful in the process of creating a track that not even Diffused’s label head, Michael Woods, was able to revamp in his slightly edited version.
