Returning to Mark Knight’s Toolroom Records, Switzerland-based Maurizio Colella, professionally known by his stage name EDX, comes out with the official follow-up to last year’s ‘Touched’ titled ‘Blessed’.

With soothing flows of melodic bliss, ‘Blessed’ sees Colella well in his element with a beautiful take on a genre that he has not only mastered, but set the standard to an all-time-high for. Leading with the warm melodic progressions that his career thus far has sworn by, ‘Blessed’ makes for a superior piece of Electronic music aptly catered for the on-going Miami season.

Out now on Beatport.

More than four years down the line from his timeless remix of Dubfire’s ‘Roadkill‘, Swiss Progressive House master Maurizio Colella, best known to the world as EDX, brings back the instantly recognizable ‘Acapulco At Night’ sound for his official remix duties of Cazzette’s ‘Weapon’.

Using his usual get-up of full-bodied synths and uplifting melodic progressions, EDX turns the Swedish duo’s peak-time stylings towards the terrains of traditional Progressive House with a result that ticks the boxes of both consistent quality and energy.

Capping off a huge year for them both, EDX and Tamra Keenan’s ‘2 Hearts 1 Mind’ receives two strong Progressive remixes courtesy of two of the globe’s fastest-rising duo’s of late.

Rife with the strong peak time mannerisms that have ornamented their recent industry ascent, Denzal Park take the lead to give ‘2 Hearts 1 Mind’ a strong lick of melodic style to turn the vocal offering into a collection of ‘hands-in-the-air’ moments. In a turn for the slightly heavier-set domains of Dance music, Inpetto rounds things off with a remix of tectonic drops and emotive breakdown segments.

As far as Swiss Dance music is concerned, the powerful collective known as Helvetic Nerds have done little wrong in putting their country on the clubbing map. But not quite content with his overhaul of global club land for 2012, collaborator and national treasure EDX unites with Leventina for a formative remix of latest single ‘Blood Pressure’.

Already boasting a strong melodic backbone within its original format, the added momentum of the trio’s sharp synth work and edgy peak time riffage make for a relevant sound bite from the modern heyday of European Dance music as a whole.

Maurizio Colella, by all accounts, has mastered the realms of warm Progressive House. But in the wake of putting a heavyset twist on Avicii’s ‘Silhouettes’, Swiss DJ EDX returns to Toolroom Records to release the official follow-up to last year’s ‘Embrace‘ in ‘Touched’.

Building on the sound that has championed his name over the past several years, ‘Touched’ sees Colella’s signature melodic stylings receive a modern twist courtesy of an energetic and blissful mixture of Progressive and Trance. Say what you will about the digression of EDX’s studio-output of late, but if ‘Touched’ is any indication, EDX will not cease to keep his melodic legacy well and truly alive.

In the wake of the long overdue official release of the original off LE7ELS Recordings, Avicii’s ‘Silhouettes‘ gets the remix treatment from an unexpected assortment of producers from across the globe.

First to bat for the remix package, newly signed LE7ELS protégé Syn Cole, formerly known as Clashback, takes the lead with a Creamfields-dedicated remix of high-pitched synth lines and sturdy kicks. But where the aforementioned Estonian builds upon the Swede’s familiar synth stylings, Swiss producer EDX and Vancouver’s Lazy Rich bring persistent misshapen chord play and bass-heavy beat work into the equation to round off the package with two heavier-set remodels.

Track wise, it features the likes of Sultan and Ned Shepard’s ‘Walls’ off Tiësto’s Club Life Miami compilation, Wolfgang Gartner’s freshly released ‘Redline‘, Thomas Gold’s ‘Sing2Me‘ and more.
