Maurizio Colella, by all accounts, has mastered the realms of warm Progressive House. Under the guise of EDX, his time at the helm of the ever-growing Electronic Dance Music scene has mustered a fanatical following for both his No Xcuses radio show and increasing international live presence, while vivacious outings for the likes of Toolroom Records Pinkstar have kept the Swiss producer’s melodic legacy well and truly alive.
But amid his debut full-length outing for Sirup Music, ‘On The Edge’, EDX returns to the heyday of his elite Progressive stylings with leading album track ‘Everything’. Summoning the unique silvery of Atlanta’s essential EDM vocal piece Hadley, the Colella’s scrupulous melodic developments are perfectly accompanied by a truly evocative vocal line that sets this track apart from the crowd on the grounds of its resurrection of a sub-genre that too many have tried to emulate with little consistency. Say what you will about the digression of EDX’s studio-output, but ‘Everything’ suggests that some sounds will never slip off the radar.
‘Everything’ is out now as part of his debut album ‘On The Edge’.
Taken from the third artist album from Dinka, Tales Of The Sun, Reach For Me, originally made by the Tamara Maria Hunkeler in conjuction with Hadley and Danny Inzerillo, returns to the Sirup Music concern to pull out a fist-pumping take on the harmonic original. Formerly recognized for their row of driving remixes of Free, Visions Of Love, Boom, Remedy and the recently unveiled take on Tove Styrke’s glorious Call My Name, Dimitri Vangelis and Wyman emerge PinkStar Records with the synth-filled instensity of their latest production along with them, gracefully embracing the silky vocals of the Atlanta-bred Hadley. As they retain the original’s harmonic feel, the aspiring co-producers enhance their own, pretentious characteristics.
