Where Disclosure raised the bar for remixes of Jessie Ware to an all-time high with their take on ‘Running’ earlier this year, Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard is on hand to put an equally impressive twist on her most recent single, ‘Night Light’.
Showcasing the same avant-garde Electro sound that pervaded his remix of Disclosure’s ‘Control‘ last month, Goddard’s Pete Tong-approved remodel complements Ware’s distinct top line with colorful, vintage synth play and growling low-end progressions and makes for yet another landmark addition to his belt.
More than half way through the year that inevitably gave rise to seminal Brighton club duo Disclosure, Hot Chip’s own Joe Goddard jumps aboard their proud British Dance milestone to take their renowned single ‘Control’ to new and unfamiliar heights of avant-garde Electro style.
While the Brighton duos original scoped significant attention on the airwaves from Pete Tong and Annie Mac alike, Goddard’s eerie Electronica getup proves a fresh shade of inspiration to the increasingly popular original. While Ria Ritchie’s simple yet substantial topline plays a crucial part in the composition of this ambitious remix, the ceaseless melodic surges and tainted high-end progressions of Goddard’s take on ‘Control’ reek of the forward-thinking floor capabilities that have been all too absent throughout 2012.
