Though things ended quite abruptly in late June after the release of his remix of Party Rock Anthem due to the birth of his very first baby and some admirable parenting, Kim Fai’s year of 2011 as far as his music output goes has still been quite the notable journey if you sift it through. Coming out with the Era EP via Steve Angello’s Size Records, the Zen EP via Mark Knight’s Toolroom Records and remixing Sun & Moon and In My Life all over a period of this year’s first six months, Fai has dibbled himself as one of England’s few progressive House exports of great measures. Now, merely half a year after his latest release and countless ass whipes later, the Tipton-bred Richard Cheung marks his return to proceedings promptly and boldly with an intricate, synth filled offering that causes us to remember the production knack of Kim Fai.

Consisting of a number of overlapping and downright rapturing melodies and a pretty gentle yet firmly structured kick, L.I.C is the record that Fai is now seen giving away as a free download in the charitable times of Christmas.

Formerly unveiled in an interview with AN21 in late 2010, the collaboration in between AN21, Max Vangeli and Kim Fai, entitled Story, has been bouncing around the net ever since, in search for a proper and legit sample. And not only does the interwork look like a victorious concept on paper, but has been a peak-time regular in their live sets this Summer in a fuse with the acappella of The Temper Trap’s Sweet Disposition. Joining in on the forthcoming debut album on Size Records from AN21 and Max Vangeli alongside People Of The Night, Whisper and Fresh Start among others, the rapture Story causes is giving further momentum to the already firmly stringed Size album that is told to see its outing later this year.

Grounded upon sounds of the sheerest of characters, the production, that many have believed to be another blistering take on the Australian indie rock group, can finally come to light as the long-anticipated album single with Kim Fai, whom returns to Size after the graceful release of Era / Supernova in February. Crammed with the finest of all vibrant synth leads, the emotional vibes of Story unfolds a stodgily fist-pumping feeling of euphoria, which is to fuel this single into an essential powerhouse for the forthcoming album and everything Size Records.

Being the mastermind behind the highly-acclaimed Refune EP in early March of this year has propelled him towards the top and major recognition onto the talent, unearthed by Sebastian Ingrosso and camp Refune. Just released smashing remixes of Pressure and Save The World which have both created a great buzz on the net with its intense structures, this might just be the year of Alesso. Having just unveiled that a brand new EP on Refune is in progress and as is a new single alongside Sebastian Ingrosso himself, he is now releasing his headlining take on Hollywood-stationed duo LMFAO, who’s ever so recognized trademarker I’m In Miami Bitch is still doing a serious effort on the charts, and their newly released single together with Lauren Bennett and GoonRock called Party Rock Anthem. Moving on from the positive vibes created by Dirty South’s bumpy remix of Coming Home, Interscope Records does not only present this floorfiller of a remix solo but a version from England’s Kim Fai is also included. Recently known for his remix of Sun & Moon and his Zen / Nano EP on Toolroom, another stunning joint can now be added to his heavyweight discography. It features an accrescently bumpy arrange, assisted by a cumulative and near to cacophonous sound, gracing the original smooth and easy.

Riding on the positive vibes created by remixes of Sun & Moon and In My Life as well as his recent EP under the Toolroom Records banner, Kim Fai uncovers a new remix for LMFAO’s major, new single Party Rock Anthem alongside Lauren Bennett and GoonRock, joining in alongside Alesso on the remixers list. Interscope Records‘ fresh dash towards the House scene hasn’t gone inglorious as Dirty South’s pounding remix of Coming Home was one of the anthems during Miami Music Week in March. Having just fired away a preview of Alesso’s vigorous version, Kim Fai, with a bumpy lead at his mercy, graces the original gloriously with a pinch of Dutch sounds.
