Following a string of remixes across a vast array of labels, Canadian Electro House monger Lucky Date returns to the original production front with the inaugural release of his Warpath Group imprint, ‘Freak’.
Moderately reminiscent of last year’s ‘Fall Into The Sky’ alongside Zedd and Ellie Goulding, set aside the ballad-like breakdown segments, ‘Freak’ employs wailing bleeps, spooky synth lines and bouncy beat work, setting things up for a bulletproof launch of his new record label.

In the wake of last year’s successful original release, aspiring Spanish DJ Danny Avila looks to extend the shelf life of his debut single ‘Breaking Your Fall’ with a four-track remix package courtesy of two acts from each side of the pond.
Swapping the original’s bright synth lines for pulsing beats and raw energy throughout, dBerrie, Mikael Weermets, Lucky Date and Sick Individuals are on hand to lay down four hard-hitting numbers of the synth-laden original mix.

Joined by New York-based Greg Cerrone, Swedish heavyweight John Dahlback is back at the forefront of bass-heavy club music for a third release on Big Beat Records, following up on his ‘Panic‘ EP for Rising Music. Comfortably building a repertoire of disjointed Electro House around Janice Robinson’s top line, formerly known as the vocals for ‘Life‘, ‘Every Breath’ marks a strong return to collaborative efforts for Dahlback. But where the original is well and truly a low-end affair at its strongest moments, the B-Side of the package sees Vancouver producer Lucky Date round off the two-track release with a remix of blistering Electro.
As far as Dance breakthroughs are concerned, few have come in the same demand as Germany’s Anton Zaslavski. But under the guise of his renowned studio alias Zedd, the aftermath of his debut full-length, ‘Clarity‘, sees him joined by Lucky Date and Ellie Goulding to treat us with the full version of one of his album’s heavier-set tracks, ‘Fall Into The Sky’. Mixing slow synths, angelic vocals à la Ellie Goulding and hard-hitting drops, the unique contrast sets ‘Fall Into The Sky’ apart from the hordes of Electro-savvy post-summer contenders with consistent stamina.
Running with the same diverse take on electro-house that has brought Germany based Zedd to the status of one of Europe’s most sought-after producers out lately, Berkeley-bred Jordan Atkins-Loria, professionally known as Lucky Date, has become a promising asset to America’s rapidly rising Electronic Dance Music export. In favour of weirdly distorted electro-house, Lucky Date has pretty much had acclaim coming for him since his inception as a producer and contributor on USA’s clubbing circuit back in late 2009.
For his continued ascent then, the robust appeal and versatility of his latest offering, ‘I Want You’, makes for another noteworthy appearance on the yet young American’s behalf. Flipping from some rather soothing synth lines and a playful, vocal sampling to dark and heavy-hitting sounds, Lucky Date’s second mark in 2012 is a further testament to the production knack of the budding American star.
