Helsinki-based Otto Yliperttula, better known to the world as Yotto or one half of Something Good, comes out with his take on M83’s ‘Intro’, taken from the French band’s acclaimed ”Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming” album. Eerily similar to the version used in Luciano’s sets of late, Yliperttula’s latest work leads with simplicity over complexity while firmly echoing the renowned signature statement of Alesso: ‘Less is more’. Replacing the symphonic instrumental work of the original with a bouncy tech beat, Yotto’s rework of ‘Intro’ successfully maintains the soothing vibe of the track while remodelling it into something of a post-summer gem released just in time for the last leg of the Ibiza season.

French pop pundits M83 have somewhat spoilt their best-kept secret status with last year’s groundbreaking sixth studio album ‘‘Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming’. But where some may have worried that their pure stylings were in jeopardy, stunning single ‘Reunion’ is given a reassuringly high-end remix courtesy of Scottish studio don and Electro Pop evangelist Mylo in celebration of their new high-profile stature.

Officially premiered by Radio One’s Annie Mac earlier this year, Mylo treads respectfully on the originals delicate disposition. Once France’s best kept secret, the impact of M83’s globally acclaimed sixth studio album, released last year, suggests that going with the more incognito approach is no longer an option for this French electronic music band. On the other side, Scottish producer Myles MacInnes, professionally known as Mylo, is on hand to give ‘Reunion’, one of the more potent singles off of ‘Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming’, a high-end remix. As officially premiered by Annie Mac on BBC Radio 1 on Friday, Mylo’s take on the rather intricate original gives the track more of an easy on the ear appeal. Featuring a set of sweepy synths along with some crisp percussions and solid kicks, it’s safe to say that the Scotsman’s version perfectly complements the already stunning top line for a concoction that is certain see itself become a classic in due time.
