There is no denying the hold French wunderkind Madeon has on Electronic Dance Music. But with an acclaimed performance at Electric Daisy Carnival New York under his belt, Hugo Leclercq returns to production duties for his second installment on his own Popcultur imprint. Where label debut ‘Icarus‘ raised a high-end mixture of sound melodic pop that beckons the positive vibes of an early 80s dance floor, his follow-up ‘Finale’ sees the young Frenchman depart from his potent signature take on French house for a notable step away from his comfort zone.

Driven by the urge to push something different for his latest studio endeavour, ‘Finale’s’ more down-tempo approach still teems with the same ambitious sounds and intricate melodic styling’s that have carried his reputation from the outset of his premature explosion. Armed with the stirring vocal styling’s of homeland peer Nicholas Petricca, the young and aspiring producer gains yet further momentum with an unexpected yet emotively refined follow-up to prove that the hysteria surrounding his spritely talents remain wholeheartedly earned.

The French have proven themselves a nation of two very differing avenues in Electronic music over the past couple of years. While club-to-pop conjurer Martin Solveig has proven far more comfortable in the billboard charts, his young Nu Disco orientated peer Madeon has certainly raised the bar coming of age Electro House. Previewed exclusively by longstanding supporter Pete Tong, his remix of ‘The Night Out’ touches on yet more of the rising producers maturely refined sound. Despite his significant lack of experience, this Electro-tinted outing of energetic vigour and carefully constructed chord play shows that his short time on the scene has served his studio dialect incredibly well.

Extending the trend of chart-worthy House assets with considerable perseverance, Montreal’s finest A-Trak drops the Duck Sauce moniker and rekindles the world with his organic solo stylings.  Leading with craftily cut beats and those subtle acid moments that the globe has grown to love, his take on the inevitably predictable Solveig outing is something of a diamond amid the rough and tumble of modern Dance music. Emphasising the mildly appealing vocal line with his own sharp melodic grandeur and infectious chords, the Canadian club veteran overshadows the original with a productive knack you just cannot fake.

Bringing together the best elements of this concise House crossover, the A-Trak vs. Martin rework see’s the formative French producer return to his earlier roots with a perky yet somewhat raw take on the original. Rounding off the package with a third instalment of club leaning gold dust as well as a captivating remix from rising Finnish duo Marcus Maison and Will Dragen, all the boxes are ticked within this solid extension of Solveig’s undisputed universal charm.

Bouncing off the originals stern top line with an uplifting injection melodic play and those familiar vintage synth spots we now associate with the young French master, ‘The Night Out’ is given a dignified remodel that extends the hysteria surrounding this evident contender for the throne of European House sovereignty.

After his remarkable Pop Culture video went viral a few months back, Hugo Leclercq, better known as Madeon, has lived underground like a permanent force of the French house scene. But in verity, the music ingeniousness of the now 17 year old producer out of Nantes, France began encountering and scooping audiences from the out-and-out fans of electronic dance music mid last year. Going in the footmark’s of such pioneers as Daft Punk and Cassius, the aptitude of Madeon has indicated potential of becoming as evenly impressive as them both with a widely acknowledged streak of hit productions out.
