Off the back of the hotly tipped ‘Bango’ with Prok & Fitch earlier this year, Marco Lys makes his way back to Great Stuff Recordings and the realms of straight-laced grooves with ‘The Underground’ alongside Michael Gray.
In addition to the hypnotic samples, concise rhythmic persuasions and acid-esque sound that pervade the original version, the release also includes a remix from Federico Scavo who gives the track a considerably thicker feel. In a genre that is too often dismissed as back-to-back beat tracks, Lys and Gray provide a release that instils a strong degree of enthusiastic energy for tech house music.

Despite countless attempts, few have successfully turned the all-time classic ‘Walk Like An Egyptian’ into an all-out Tech House affair with as much momentous achievement as Prok & Fitch and Marco Lys. Making their way back to Tomcraft’s Great Stuff Recordings, the Brighton duo unites with label regular and Italian beat smith Lys to set in motion the anticipation for Miami Music Week 2013 early with ‘Bango.’ Pitting exotic beat work alongside the instantly recognizable sample from The Bangles’ 1986 hit, ‘Bango’ starts off the New Year right for the British-Italian trio with a track that instils a strong degree of enthusiasm for Tech House that works as well in a club as it does a beach.

A definite taste-maker in the tech house scene, Tomcraft’s Great Stuff Recordings’ ‘quality-over-quantity’ approach has never proven anything but a winning formula amidst the industry’s most lucrative state thus far. But however attempting to drop the ultimate soundtrack for the summer season, Great Stuff release episode four of their “Grooves” compilation series, featuring a remarkable 14 tech-oriented cuts.
Blazing through a selection from the likes of Ant Brooks, Christian Cambas, NDKj, Sergio Fernandez amongst others, Italy’s Marco Lys unites with Hoxton Whores and Hurr for a Pleasurekraft-esque contribution. Teeming with chunky kicks and playful, vocal-sounding lead play, ‘Novosibirisk’ acts as something of a stellar asset to the Munich-based imprint’s latest offering, still leaving plenty of room for the Balearic groove of Rob Mirage’s ‘New Jack Funk’ and others to help make up one of Great Stuff’s most consistent compilations to date.
Returning from last year’s revamp of Moby’s ‘GO‘ and the more recent collaboration with Michael Gray, Marco Lys comes out with another installment on the record label of Chris Lake, with whom he delivered the momentous ‘Cross The Line’ album back in late 2010. Having proven a potent addition to the tech-house scene over the past few years, the Italian’s new Rising Music release features a total of three brand-new Marco Lys originals, all of which are significant contributions to the dynamic package that is the ‘Can’t Get Enough EP’.
The funky, old-school approach of ‘Toys’ takes on the part as this EP’s groovy contender while ‘Not Really (All My Mind Games)’ and the package’s very headliner ‘Can’t Get Enough’ are of a considerably sturdier calibre, making this release well worth a listen and purchase.
Get your grooving boxers on, because Cr2 Records is most certainly heating up the place with the consistent sounds of Turn Me On, for which Italy-based tech specialist Marco Lys teams up with Cr2’s newly acquired tech aspirant from Hungary, Paul Strive. With a sound contrast, that lays in between the catchiest of guitar and growling, dark piano tones, Turn Me On is brought out as the record label’s most eminent and unique tech offering in 2011. The imprint that’s well on their way of bringing up talents like Strive and Pierce Fulton is presenting us with a rather astonishing collaboration. The established Mr. Lys is surely recognized from his recurringly high-quality appearances such as GO on Rising, the remix on Weekend as well as his 2010 album with Chris Lake to name a few. Following the more commercial releases of What Happens In Vegas and Don’t Be Afraid, Cr2 returns to their trademarked tech outputs.
And Chris Lake’s Rising Music label presents another high end tech offering. Going on the heels of the Pete Tong-premiered Secrets In The Dark, courtesy of label owner Mr. Lake himself, his partner in crime from Italy, Marco Lys is the next in line to fall under the Rising banner with a new, soulful single named GO. Well-known for starring as the producer behind the tech remix of Wild Out and the drum-dominating take on Weekend, Lys has done pretty well for himself and more is yet to come as the new trademark has officially arrived. Brought aboard is also a couple of remixes from Prok & Fitch, the Brighton duo whom recently released the catchy Cabala single on 303Lovers, and Nom De Strip & LA Riots, making their second appearance on the Rising label in addition to their remix of Hey in late 2010. Originally being a rework of Moby’s mighty single with the same name, GO is now out!
