Building around the original’s instantly recognizable piano play and Matthew Koma’s familiar vocals, the Russian duo brings the burly Electro House vibes that have sealed their name to the big-time with notable success. Croaking bass and swift chord work take a u-turn on the original track’s relatively consumer-safe aura, packing a well-deserved punch into this popular radio- and club anthem.

Amid the untimely coupling of Trance and ‘House’ music, many have found their demise. At the victorious sector of this union stands Progressive Trance visionary Jochen Miller, a Dutch asset whom has proven undeniably conversant in refuelling the Netherlands Trance legacy.

But away from his Trance roots and towards the ‘Housier’ side of affairs, Miller is back to take on official remix duties for Fedde Le Grand, Nicky Romero and Matthew Koma’s ‘Sparks (Turn Off Your Mind)’, creating a heavier-set version that borrows quite heavily from the original.

On the heels of the release of the instrumental version, October 8th sees 21-year-old Swede Alesso unleash the official music video to his widely renowned single ‘Years‘ alongside Interscope vocalist Matthew Koma.

Based upon his journey from young piano enthusiast to highly acclaimed DJ and producer, the video sheds light on the true meaning behind the production itself and traces the story of his successful music career in a brutally honest way. Additionally, the visual accompaniment to ‘Years’ also features a cameo of fellow mentor Sebastian Ingrosso and pays tribute to close friend Riccardo Campogiani, who tragically passed away back in 2007 the day before his 17th birthday after being severely assaulted on the streets of Stockholm by five boys of the same age.

While his Refune Records debut ‘Bong’ remains a crucial summer selector amid the summer clubbing season, the MTV approved German Deniz Koyu breaks the silence with a remix for the Electro stylings of his homeland peer Zedd’s ‘Spectrum’ to join an already accomplished collection of official remodels.  Preserving the poignant vocal work of Matthew Koma alongside a selection of hallmarks from Anton Zaslavski’s original offering, the dark and heavyset studio stylings of Koyu reign ultimately satisfying in yet another firm extension of this chart-raking Electro outing. With forthcoming remix duties for Miike Snow and a new original alongside Wynter Gordon set to drop in August, Koyu’s reign upon universal Dance music looks set to extend throughout the months to come.

Breaking the ice with a heartrending string ensemble, the duos coarse and heavy-set lead work sees the tracks otherwise melodic backdrop turned to a cataclysmic front line of festival proof energy from the familiar rule book of 21st century Electro House. Perhaps not the most forward-thinking extension of the genre to touch the summer season thus far, but the significant force of these two French club crusaders marks that amid the copycat maneuvers of modern Dance music, Klosman and Garner have got the ardent energy of Electro House well sussed.
