With more than a decade worth of envelope-pushing releases under their belt, Dutch duo Chocolate Puma continue to keep things fresh and exciting with new single ‘2000 People’ for Laidback Luke’s Mixmash Records. Embracing their knack for intense percussive developments, ‘2000 People’ features wonky yet sexy beat work and their signature carnevalesque grooves while trampling on the more exotic extensions of modern house music.

Dutch festival regulars Laidback Luke and Hardwell combine forces for a new original release on Luke’s Mixmash Records in the form of ‘Dynamo’. Flipping from bright synths to overpowered low-end riffage and standalone lead play, the seething attitude of ‘Dynamo’ mirrors the high-octane sound scope club that this double-barrelled collaborative effort has invariably perfected. Far from an echo of the tediously popular Electro House stylings, Laidback Luke and Hardwell make formative festival fuel of this latest stern mark for Mixmash.

Never confined to one solitary genre, Holland’s Luke Van Scheppingen, better known as Laidback Luke, is back at the original production front to release his first single of the year in ‘Pogo’, featuring vocals from Majestic.

Off the back of remix duties for Chuckie and Junxterjack’s ‘Make Some Noise,’ the Mixmash head honcho goes in a similar vein to create a track that extends the common theme of heavyset floor-fillers with sluggish beat work and wailing chord play throughout.

Never one to rest on his laurels, Holland’s Luke Van Scheppingen, better known as Laidback Luke, is back at the original production front to officially preview his first single of 2013 alongside Majestic titled ‘Pogo.’

Following up on his collaborative effort alongside Wolfgang Gartner, ‘Evil Lurks‘, renowned Moda wingman Tom Staar makes his Mixmash Records debut with his final release of 2012 in ‘Kingdom’. Further emphasizing his unwillingness to be typecast, Staar flexes his instrumental muscles for a track of chugging chord progressions and bright synths. Though not his best work to date, ‘Kingdom’ sees the British producer add yet another solid original release to his back catalogue en route to 2013.

Still hot on the heels from mixing volume 9 of Strictly Rhythm’s self-entitled compilation series alongside Neoteric, Sydney-based Wax Motif joins forces with homeland singer Madame Buttons for a new original release in ”Never Fall Again”.

Approved and lapped up by Laidback Luke for a release on his Mixmash Records imprint, ‘Never Fall Again’ drives deep into the mechanical realms of modern club mastery. Laced with grinding chords and an array of pitch-pervading lead work, the track matches robustly charged Electro with the radio-friendly vocal stylings of the Melbourne singer.

Dutch heavyweight Laidback Luke reunites with Oxford producer Lee Mortimer for a filthy, new release on his own Mixmash Records. In the wake of the free release of Luke’s ‘Cambodia‘, the duo mark their return with the long overdue follow-up to 2009’s acclaimed ‘Blau’ single in ‘Strobelight’. Dealing in a simple yet hard hitting display of blistering lead play and grumbling low-end riffage, ‘Strobelight’ sees the cross-nation pair bring something of a fresh take on modern Electro House into the equation.

To say that the realms of Electro House have become somewhat predictable within its universal explosion is no overstatement. But on hand with their take on the genre, Canadian / Scandinavian production outfit ANSOL combine forces with Toronto duo Dzeko & Torres to make a collective debut on Laidback Luke’s Mixmash Records with ‘Y3AH’.

In a similar vein as Dzeko & Torres’ newly unveiled ‘Hey‘ for Dim Mak, the heavyset grinding and scattered vocal chants of ‘Y3AH’ are met with bright synth leads and extensive melodic play to make up one of the more potent releases to emerge from the Mixmash camp this year.

Just when it seemed like John Dahlback’s quality-over-quantity approach had been rightly subscribed, 2012 would prove a year of no half measures for the longserving Swedish House producer. Hot on the heels from his latest release for Toolroom Records, ‘Sing That‘, Dahlback continues his onslaught of eclectic club fuel with his debut release for Laidback Luke’s Mixmash Records, ‘Get Wild’.

As highlighted in his collection of exclusive previews set to drop throughout 2012 and premiered in his guest mix duties for ImanoS’ Decked Out mix series, the filthy and Electro-filled instrumentals that make up ‘Get Wild’ alongside a display of cranked samples are yet another indicator of the fact that Dahlback has never been much for sticking to one solitary sound.
