As formally premiered in episode eight of Avicii’s ‘Levels’ podcast last year, Henrik B is joined by homeland peers Niklas Gustavsson and Peter Johansson for a collaborative debut single on LE7ELS Recordings with ‘Echoes’, formerly known as ‘Voices’.

Armed with a sample from The Police’s ‘Voices Inside My Head’, the track’s somewhat cheesy undertone is not enough to draw the light away from the strong melodic properties that pervade ‘Echoes’. Despite slightly reminiscent of Arty and Matisse & Sadko’s ‘Trio’, the mix of The Police’s timeless vocal and blissful melodics makes for another firm indication that Sweden’s trend-setting Progressive House export remains as strong and influential as ever.

As formally premiered in episode 8 of Avicii’s ‘Levels’ podcast, Henrik B is joined by homeland peers Niklas Gustavsson and Peter Johansson for a collective debut on LE7ELS Recordings with ‘Voices’.

Armed with a sample from The Police’s ‘Voices Inside My Head’, the track’s somewhat cheesy undertone is not enough to draw the light away from the strong melodic properties that pervade ‘Voices’. Despite being eerily reminiscent of Arty and Matisse & Sadko’s ‘Trio’, the balancing of The Police’s timeless vocal line and blissful melodics makes for another firm indication that Sweden’s trend-setting Progressive House export remains as strong and influential as ever before.

Out soon on LE7ELS Recordings.

In a stern nod towards quality House music, Sweden’s Niklas Gustavsson marks his return to Italy-based Natura Viva for the unveiling of the follow-up to ‘Natural Thing‘, entitled ‘Be Down’.

Breaking away from the cheesier domains of Dance music, ‘Be Down’ places insatiable groove work alongside an array of vintage lead play from the outset. Transitioning from a sleek flare of eccentric beats, Gustavsson’s next release ascends into an all-out affair of deep-rooted soul and vocal sample work, marking an essential throwback to the vintage day of House music with a 21st century twist.

Out October 29.

Having shed his new school accolades with the ‘Cool Cat, Hot Dog EP‘ alongside Peter Johansson earlier this year, longserving Swedish producer Niklas Gustavsson steps up to the mark with solo follow-up ‘Natural Thing’ alongside fellow countryman Ludvig Holm for Natura Viva. Mirroring Sweden’s currently potent club movements, their expertly fused outing of deeper House grooves and potent lead work make for an exuberant model for forward thinking club music. While its resolutely hypnotic samples and concise rhythmic persuasions tear it apart from the atypical Swedish anthem, its divergence is enough to hone in on the maximal energy and creative integrity boasted by these two fine specimens of Scandinavian talent.

Where Niklas Gustavsson and Peter Johansson’s ‘Cool Cat, Hot Dog’ had already propped up on our radar, British House enthusiast Dan Castro is on hand to produce an asset to the overall package for Groovetraxx. Injecting a firm backbone of low-end wobbles and sportingly modest transitions, Castro’s ability to respect the originals substance while throwing his own characteristic flare on eclectic House cuts into the equation reigns supreme. Where the Swedish duos original made for a forward thinking outing amid their home crowd, Castro’s take is a satisfying endeavour that sheds some positive light on the British scene and its rising contenders.
