Taking some time out from his duty as radio host veteran for BBC Radio 1, British Dance ambassador Pete Tong reunites with partner-in-crime Paul Rogers to don their own flavour to a single off of Leeds band Alt-J’s debut album.

Reminiscent of last year’s Daniel Dubb and Sean Miller adaption of Nina Simone’s ‘Sinnerman’, the UK duo’s take on ‘Something Good’ plays out with the scattered energy and inherent attitude of a seedy basement band. With crisp hi-hats, infectious rerunning piano loops, and minimalistic Tech beats maintaining the soothing vibe of the alternative indie pop original, it is Tong and Rogers’ calm and rhythmic approach that makes their take on Alt-J one of their more accomplished remixes to date.

Taking on remix duties for British tandem duo Pete Tong and Paul Rogers’ latest single, the Italy producer follows on from the acclaim that continues to fall in favor of the February release of his single ‘Party Non Stop’ to release his take on ‘Shake The Dice’. Teeming with playful vocal loops, funk-induced beats and rhythmic vocal chants, Pirupa’s latest creation successfully mirrors that of his affinity for groove-induced instrumental work while making up one of the best works to emerge from the dexterous Italian this year.

It’s been an eagerly-anticipated dancefloor killer in his sets for close to a year now and the release couldn’t be more congenial. Representing the prestigious London-based EMI Records, Benassi’s version, headlining this release, has and will surely make big splashes in the digital pond. After having walked the great corridors of BBC Radio 1 and the Essential Selection a total of three times, Pete Tong and Paul Rogers‘ remix has finally arrived as well, accompanying the renowned Italian in this deluxe package.

After a successful year of his weekly Essential Selection on BBC Radio 1, Pete Tong teams up with Paul Rogers once again, this time to produce a stunning tech EP. With brilliance on their side, Mark Knight decided to sign the duo’s EP called Headstrong to his own precious imprint Toolroom Records.
