Close to eight months after its premiere at Belgium’s renowned Tomorrowland festival, Dutch juggernaut Nicky Romero has finally released his highly-anticipated fourth single on his own Protocol Recordings following last year’s ‘Like Home’ with Nervo.
Jumping between heavy beats and toe-tapping string work, ‘Symphonica’ portrays an all-out affair of grinding Electro House and live-recorded, orchestral break-downs, creating a pairing of muscle and melodics that compliment each other with a sense of unified energy.

Close to seven months after it’s premiere at Belgium’s renowned Tomorrowland festival, Dutch tunemonger Nicky Romero has announced the release date of his eagerly-awaited fourth release on his own Protocol Recordings following last year’s ‘Like Home’ with Nervo.
Jumping between heavy beats and sample work, ‘Symphonica’ plays out as an all-out affair of grinding Electro House and live-recorded, orchestral break-downs, portraying a pairing of muscle and melodics that compliment each other with a rare sense of unified energy. Scheduled to drop a mere day after weekend two of Ultra Music Festival in Miami, ‘Symphonica’ looks set to steal the show at live performances throughout the Miami Music Week.
Out March 25th.
Fresh off having dominated the overall Beatport chart with two weeks at the #1 spot, Nicky Romero and Nervo’s collaborative single ‘Like Home‘ gets the remix treatment from a diverse slew of producers from both sides of the pond.
While Los Angeles-born Dillon Francis embraces his downtempo mindset for a melodic headline remix, Dutch Revealed protégé Dannic serves up a synth-led take of peak-time energy throughout. Rounding out the package with his unorthodox approach to modern House music, Gregor Salto is on hand with a dark remix that balances heavy drum work and grinding chord play.

Update (21/2): The official music video is now live!
Off the back of a two week streak of inhabiting the #1 spot on Beatport with ‘Like Home‘, Protocol Recordings ups the ante for it’s first non-Nicky Romero release, courtesy of fast-ascending Frenchman Tony Romera.
Never confined to one solitary sound, Romera ditches the grinding Electro that pervaded the majority of his studio output throughout the year, including the Beatport #3 remix of ‘Breaking Up’ alongside Bartosz Brenes, for a minimalistic cut called ‘Pandor’. As premiered on Nicky Romero’s Protocol Radio, the standalone rolling chord play and ‘Koko’-influenced breakdown melodiesthat make up ‘Pandor’ look to extend his club-savvy studio output with a solid contribution to the post-festival season.
With a landmark year attributable to both their names, recently inaugurated DJ Mag appendage Nicky Romero unites with renowned pop-to-club songwriters turned high-profile sisterly Dance outfit Nervo for ‘Like Home’.
Signed to Romero’s fast-rising Protocol Records imprint, the Dutch producer provides familiar and qualified production values, weaving a canvas of uplifting melodic progressions and tempered beats around the inoffensively radio-friendly vocal stylings courtesy of EMI’s leading sister act. Continuing the streak of pop focused club offerings that Romero has come to master over the past year, ‘Like Home’ proves a relevant and qualified addition to the belts of three talents sure to be set on big things for 2013.
As officially premiered in this weekend’s episode of Nicky Romero’s Protocol Radio show, Dillon Francis takes on remix duties for Nicky Romero and Nervo’s long-awaited collaborative single, ‘Like Home‘. Never one to rest on his laurels, Francis continues to pursue his forward-thinking take on peak-time Dance music to complement the familiar vocal stylings of EMI’s leading sister act with a melodic, down tempo instrumental. Perhaps more commonly associated with his status as the perpetual clown of Dance music, if this remix is any indication, Francis certainly has more to bring to the table than his sense of humor.
Out December 18th along with remixes from Dannic and Gregor Salto.
Several months in the waiting, DJ Mag #17 DJ Nicky Romero is joined by the renowned songwriters turned acclaimed DJ duo Nervo, who not so long ago could be found writing songs for the likes of David Guetta and Kesha, to officially preview their long-awaited single called ‘Like Home’.
Delicately layering uplifting synth work and Nervo’s blissful vocal stylings, Nicky Romero and Nervo get the balance between radio friendly vocals and solid floor fuel as close to spot on as one could have hoped for. While their overall approach may be a familiar one amid the current digital market, ‘Like Home’ is as infectious as it is indicative of modern Progressive House done right.
Out November 12th on Protocol Recordings.
With the original still sitting comfortably at #4 in the overall Beatport chart, Nicky Romero and Calvin Harris’ ‘Iron‘ returns for round two with a slew of remixes from two of Europe’s most sought-after talents of late.
Already associated with a premium blend of tectonic Electro House, Amsterdam’s Dyro is first to bat for the remix package, following up his synth-tinged remix of ‘Night Like This‘ and extending the belief that Jordy Von Egmond is out to shake things up for the remainder of 2012. But where Dyro swaps the original’s wobble-induced instrumental work for a burly take on his grinding signature sound, France’s Tony Romera tops the package with a heavy-footed remix B-Side of churning, minimalistic builds and standalone lead play.
