First premiered on Eric Prydz’s EPIC Radio, the vintage hallmarks usually heralded by Prydz have evidently aligned well with his London based protégé. Armed with soaring melodic synth lines and an undercurrent of stern lead work, the sample work of ‘I Can’t Stop It’ ornaments a track as aurally stimulating as its is infectious.

Premiered in episode seven of his EPIC Radio series, Prydz’s remix of ‘Let Me Feel’ dives erratically through layered leads and atmospheric surges for a strong first release of 2013. With the promise that 2013 will see a more consistent slew of releases from Prydz and his Pryda imprint alike, Prydz’s latest work dictates that the road from here is one of quality and consistency for this long serving champion of melodic Dance music.

Liverpool’s Eric Prydz-approved studio force Richard Knott returns to make his Pryda Friends debut with the follow-up to ‘Portals‘, entitled ‘Locus Solus’. In a Cirez D-esque manner, Knott steps away from the delightful synths and melodies that we have come to love and associate with the 23-year-old Liverpudlian to produce something different altogether. Whether based upon Raymond Roussel’s French novel from 1914 with the same name or not, we don’t know, but with the same mysterious approach, Knott blends enigmatic lead play and chunky beat work for one of his perhaps freshest gems to date.

With a steadily rising output of strong floor-orientated contenders, the next Pryda Friends release from Fehrplay sees him emerge armed with the melodic resonance of Pryda to present a take on some of the more heartfelt influences available to modern Dance music.

Effortlessly balancing deep rerunning vocals and the vintage charm that Pryda Friends has become synonymous with, the EPIC Radio-premiered ‘I Can’t Stop It’ encapsulates the once spiritual energy of the White Isle without compromising on 21st century production values. With the final version of the track yet to come and set to join Eric Prydz for his going-away party at Berns in Stockholm next weekend, the remainder of 2012 is unlikely to be a quiet one if this Norwegian producer has his way.

In a further emphasis on the strong Scandinavian culture currently dominating the industry, ‘Nightride’ sees the Norwegian newcomer escape the unremitting melodics now synonymous with his Fehrplay moniker for an intense take on the deeper realms of House music.
