Off the cuff of a year that quickly saw them ascend the industry food chain, Swedish up-and-comers Qulinez make amends for the silence since their debut for Size Records single ‘Troll’ with a two-track offering for Steve Angello’s Size Records.

First premiered on their guest mix for Cr2 Records earlier this year, ‘Bamf’ deals in grinding synth work and mechanical beats for one of their heaviest offering so far, leaving Angello-approved set-staple ‘Dynamic’ to shake-up the strong melodic hallmarks that have already dominated their short yet sharp ascent of the global club circuit. Proving a solid compound of the elements that made their Size Records breakthrough such an immediate favorite, the oddly named Swedish duo indicate that in spite of their silence on the original production front Qulinez has more than one ace up their sleeve.

Bringing club music to the global airwaves yet again, Scottish chart-hopper Calvin Harris teams up alongside London songstress Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine for the release of the fifth single from his upcoming third studio album, “18 Months,” alongside an unexpected assortment of remixes of old school spirit and new school edge alike.

Somewhat more reminiscent of the original Dance icon that set ablaze the Olympic Games in Athens back in 2004 with a display of Trance wizardry than his output over the past year, the headline remix of ‘Sweet Nothing’ sees Tiësto utilise Florence’s vocal line with a mix of Trance and his more recent grasp on the Housier side of affairs. In a similar vein, Size-endorsed Swedish duo Qulinez showcases blistering chord play and synth-led opulence, leaving enough room for London producer Burns to round off the package in a far more inventive manner, complementing Welch’s angelic voice with an easygoing two-step rhythm.

Joining the ranks of Tiësto, Size-endorsed Swede duo Qulinez continue their onslaught of remixes for the masses with a take on Calvin Harris and Florence Welch’s upcoming single, ‘Sweet Nothing‘.

Given an exclusive spin on last night’s Danny Howard show for BBC Radio 1, Alexander Lager and Johannes Gustafsson ditch their heavier-set sound for a 128BPM breeze over Florence’s ethereal top line. Utilising the original’s blistering chord play with euphoric builds and synth-led opulence, Qulinez’s return to remix duties may lack in originality, but excels on the merits of uplifting Progressive energy.

Out October 14th.

Since working their way onto Size Records’ roster of new-age talents with mighty anthem ‘Troll’, there has been a vivacious buzz surrounding fresh Swede duo Qulinez. But promptly following up remix duties for Welsh alternative mob The Joy Formidable, the aspiring Scandinavians take on Dutch House trailblazer Don Diablo’s ‘Silent Shadows’.

Swerving from rising Progressive lead work right through to heavy-footed Dub Step digressions, their remix steps somewhat outside of their comfort zone without breaking away entirely. Landing on a solid canvas of coarse leads and stern beats, Qulinez more familiar sound scope emerges from the tracks middle to forge yet another formative remix for the increasingly popular protégés of Steve Angello.

Swedish newcomers Qulinez have established themselves as a fearless force amid their ascent to universal acknowledgement. Stumbling into the hands of Steve Angello’s Size Records with the Pete Tong approved winter anthem ‘Troll’, the young Scandinavian duo set their sights on the unsuspecting realms of Welsh alternative trio The Joy Formidable’s ‘A Heavy Abacus’.

Bringing an elegant array of melodic leads alongside the original’s quirky vocal line, their apex is somewhat flat compared to that of their standard setting industry debut. Nevertheless bridging the gap between the unsuspecting original and the club floor to which Qulinez are proving aptly suited for with significant strength, ‘A Heavy Abacus’ is a track to which their studio capabilities successfully cater for.

Back on remix duty after their newly unveiled take on ‘A Heavy Abacus‘ by The Joy Formidable, rising Size Records duo Qulinez take on Amsterdam-based Don Diablo’s newest single, entitled ‘Silent Shadows’. Building on the dubstep original’s chord progression, Alexander Lager and Johannes Gustafsson add their high-pitched signature synth leads and pounding kicks to complement ‘Silent Shadows” fairly appealing top line. With a wish to forge a sound synonymous with their moniker, the Swedish pair continue their output of signature productions, featuring a hard and chugging drop along with hints of dubstep as part of a versatile interlude for their latest remix.

The Qulinez remix will be released on April 30th via Columbia Records.

With the groundbreaking Size Matters Augmented Reallity App on the way, the recent launch of Size Records’ new website brought us not only further insight on the updated artist roster of Steve Angello’s rising record imprint, but a free give-away of an unreleased remix of Qulinez‘ debut single on the label – ‘Troll‘. Conjuring support from arguably the hottest trio in the game with it’s premiere play by the Swedish House Mafia at this year’s Masquerade Motel in Miami, Dutch duo Sick Individuals‘ take preserves the high-pitched synth original while replacing the unorthodox drop with a heavy dose of acid-house, providing further testament to Angello’s affinity for the Roland TB-303 synthesizer. Despite being eclipsed by the mighty original, it’s refreshing to hear a different version of one of 2012’s hottest contenders thus far.
