Affirmative wobble master Sonny Moore, better known to the world as Skrillex, and German pioneer Boys Noize combine forces to form a new production outfit called Dog Blood. Straying considerably far from the dubstep stylings we have come to associate with the acclaimed American, the debut release of Dog Blood plays out as something you may expect come from Boys Noize alone.

But with the blistering chord play and overall distorted sound of ‘Next Order’ taking the headline spot, the heavyset drum work and bleepy keys of ‘Middle Finger’ takes the equally impressive B-side of an EP out to further testament to the dexterity of two of Dance music’s more prominent innovators.

Selling out in less than ten minutes and captivating the excitement of a world now fluent in modern Dance music, Belgium-based Tomorrowland festival will extend the reach of their three-day festival to the world with a live stream courtesy of YouTube. Kicking off today with the likes of Alesso, Steve Aoki, Fatboy Slim, Carl Cox and Avicii, Saturday will see coverage from Martin Solveig, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and Trance heavyweight Paul Van Dyk. Wrapping up the event with sets from Afrojack, David Guetta and Dave Clark, the live stream looks to extend the experience of Europe’s largest Dance music festival to the world this weekend despite its sell-out status. All sets will be available for streaming after the broadcast through Revibe.

Love him or hate him, Skrillex has changed the game as far as the Electro-Step crossover is concerned. From Screamo heart throb to affirmative wobble master, through wave after wave of solid low-end outings Sonny Moore has led the way for a new generation of Electro orientated artists while showing little sign of sheltering the vivacious energy alongside it. Anyone brave enough to take that intimidating soundscope and inject it into the work of The Doors was bound to see a mixed reception, but the postive influx of support for Breakn’ A Sweat suggests that the senseless bitching has been iradicated by a warm sense of industrious respect.

Of a similar mindset is German Electro House newcomer and labelmate Zedd, slamming the door on genre defiancy and ripping the Beatport charts a new one at every possible turn. In a self-fulfilling romp of distored lead work and frantic melodic peaks, the clean shaven fuzz of Anton Zaslavski’s potent remodel extends a clubworthy shelf life to Skrillex’s original, encapsulating the same low-end authority of the original stalemate stand-off to hit home a more Electro orientated offering than that of its 2-step original. We may have heard it all before, but oversubscribed sub genre remains aurally stimulating at the hands of two of its key players.

Fresh off the chart-topping release of Slam The Door, Zedd’s forthcoming third installment on Owsla Records had the honour of getting an exclusive play on Pete Tong’s Essential Selection last night. Following his two remixes for Skrillex in late 2010, the now 22 year old Anton Zaslavski is brought back as one of the protégés of the powerhouse that is Skrillex to remix a third record from the head honcho of Owsla – his ground-breaking collaboration with the rock music veterans of The Doors, entitled ‘Breakn A Sweat’, to be precise. Whilst preserving parts of the original’s dubstep oriented appeal, the German gives ‘Breakn A Sweat’ a dash of that heavy-stepping signature sound we saw go viral as a dominant part of his Owsla debut for another milestone in the continued ascent of Zedd.

The Zedd remix ‘Breakn A Sweat’ is released February 7th.

Relishing in the warmth of global appraisal and considerable chart appendage, Avicii’s Levels has come to represent a new standard in mainstream Dance music. With the presence of an increasingly popular remodel from Flo-Rida already doing the rounds for Tim Bergling’s emotive club anthem, those lucky enough to brag official remixing duties were always going to have a lot to live up to.

Currently encapsulating the extended love affair between Dub Step and Electro House, ex Emo heartthrob turned solid House-Step seamstress Skrillex continues a brave spate of redressage amid speculation that this increasingly popular sub-genres popularity may not be going anywhere too fast. In the expected bass heavy outing of low wobbles and crazy pitch-play, Sonny Moore doesn’t do the original much wrong with this darker and distorted offering.

Standing somewhat closer to home as their Swedish counterpart’s of the same management, youthful duo Cazzette bring proceedings back to more familiar grounds with a noteworthy notch of fuzz and fury on their Swedish peers original. Though slightly slower off the ground, the final flight of their remix is one of glowing character to a duo evidently on the rise in the world of Electronic Dance Music.
