As the year of 2011 draws to an end and building excitement and anticipation for what’s to go down over the next 12 months, Torondo based Mark Mendes combines forces with fellow Montreal duo Paris & Simo for 2011’s last release from Starter Records. And as the track title would suggest, this collaborative effort from three talented Canadians showcases a graceful charisma in its summerish synth filled lead and a certain powerfulness in its complementary bottom layers that, combined, make for Aura to be an optimal emittance of euphoria. Although things were left quite uncertain in terms of Mendes’ release of Telos and the take on Someone Like You with Thomas Gold earlier this Fall, the Starter Records label head wanders a tad out of his ”techy” comfort zone to team up with the Canada duo known by their recent appearances on Musical Freedom and Revealed for the six minutes of pure progressive house bliss that are Aura and to finish the year off in glamour.

With intermittent support from label head of Size and part of Swedish House Mafia, Steve Angello amongst other, Mark Mendes is back to release the follow-up to the previous tribute single, Tokyo 207. Well-known for his peerlessly refined version of Gypsy Woman in 2009 and instalments on Subliminal, Toolroom and 303Lovers to name a few, the Toronto-stationed Mendes returns to his fellow Starter Records for the 34th release of his own record label. Building upon a solid kick and hardly pounding beats, Telos is one serious contender of the harder face of tech-house. Also coming off the top notch-remix on Prok & Fitch’s Cabala single in April, Mendes shoots away another high-quality enacting of his pretentious signature sound.

Going on the heels of their latest single release - Confronted alongside Daniel Carello which was featured in the 4th volume of Chuckie’s Dirty Dutch Digital compilation – and their remixes of Feel The Love and Doin’, the Canadian Julian Dzeko teams up with his wingman Luis Torres yet again to follow in the footprints of the uncovering of their acid-influenced remix of Can’t Wait with the catchy collaboration with David Berrie a.k.a DBerrie as representatives of Mark Mendes’ Starter Records imprint. Coming with a downtempo vibe, suited for the hotly anticipated Summer times, Get F’d Up is ready to be heating up pool parties and dance events across the globe with its sophisticated sound.
