Following remixes of ‘Can’t Stop Me’ and ‘African Drop’, Tom Staar returns to Afrojack’s Wall Recordings to aid Style Of Eye’s inauguration to the label with a new original track of theirs.

In ‘After Dark’, we see a different side from what we normally associate with this Swedish-British duo. Rallying strong melodics and a seductive male top line rather than hammering beat work, ‘After Dark’ pays further testament to their ability to master more than one solitary subgenre.

Four months down the line from the acclaimed release of his debut artist album ”Clarity”, genre-defying German Zedd comes out with the first package of remixes for the album’s title track, featuring Tiësto, Style Of Eye, Brillz and a Union Mix.

While Tiësto and Style Of Eye’s high-octane approach to Dance music lead to two festival-ready remixes of the Zedd original, Anton Zaslavski’s own Union Mix provides a testament to Zedd’s musical wizardry on a completely different level, employing beautiful string work, light piano play and crispy drums for an orchestral interpretation. With part two on course for February the 18th, Los Angeles producer Brillz wraps up the first collection of official ‘Clarity’ remixes with some bleep-happy Trap.

Sweden’s eclectic Linus Eklöw has been something of a recurring favourite on the Electronic Dance music circuit over the past few years. For his latest studio effort, Eklöw ups the ante to take on remix duties for Australian songstress Kylie Minogue’s latest single release ‘Timebomb’ in a bid to continue to successfully sport his characteristic mechanic cadence. In the same, unorthodox manner as before, the Refune approved Stockholm producer follows up the dub mix of ‘Devastate‘ to tamper with the renowned voice of Minogue while replacing the surprisingly heavy-set instrumental work of the original with blistering and reassuringly creative chord play and somewhat soothing interludes.

You don’t need us to remind you that Sweden is looking pretty paramount as far as its contributions to global Dance music are concerned. Maybe it was something in the water, but even the kids are giving its fair share of bonafide legends a run for their money. One of the grittier contenders, Linus Eklöw, has incessantly fought any predispositions that it was all tame-Euro House with a consistent wave of heavy-handed Electro grooves to suit every walk of the industry.

But the mechanically superior stylings of Stockholm’s Electro orientated master prove on ultimate form for the formatively sharp dub-version of ‘Devastate’ having had the original featured as part of OSWLA’s free Beatport compilation. As precise and melodically scattered as the seminal offerings that made his name, Style Of Eye’s transitions from euphoric lead work to aptly devastating drops marks exactly why there has been so much hype surrounding this contemporary Swedish Electro-stud. Previewed exclusively by Pete Tong on his Essential Selection, this latest concentrated dose of aggressively sound club fuel is sure to make a lasting impression on the more timid European exports currently cluttering the Beatport charts and international airwaves alike with the aftermath of a fatal shot to the crotch.

Originally released in early October of 2010, Style Of Eye and Magnus The Magnus‘ ‘Antidote’ single is back to get itself a second official remix, coming off the immense cut by Pleasurekraft. Chopped up vocals, distorted sounds and hard-lined baselines all turned the distinguished original victorious and led it to having lived the underground scene for about a year by now. As it ups the ante for a floor-filling and big room-suited Sebjak take, the timeless cachets of Antidote seem to be quite the successfully re-appearing array of sounds. With his club-banging characteristics leading himself into indenture with Steve Angello’s Size Records and EMI, the rise of Sebastian Jakobsen thrives further as he adds a splendid blend of hefty beats and a mysterious break to ‘Antidote’ for it’s second remix now out via Tony Senhore’s Horehaus Records.

Embracing an unorthodox lead and nostalgically appealing piano undertones to supplement Soso’s sterling voice, another testament to Style Of Eye’s diverse style and brilliance has entered the limelight as his first release of 2012. Whereas most producers seem to gradually approach the commericial, the underground-ish touch of electronic dance music veteran Linus Eklöw remains and features on this fresh, Pete Tong-premiered remix. Returning to remix duty after his remix to Save The World together with Carli earlier this year, the Refune signed producer from Sweden capital has done wonders to a new single from an up-and-coming singer also deriving from Stockholm. Taking gracefully advantage of the high-coloured voice of Soso, Style Of Eye preserves the Who’s Gonna Love Me original’s rare charm, as if someone was expecting anything less, for a release that’s now out on Do It Yourself Bitch.
